How do I get waves for black hair?

I get out the shower (with a shower cap) then I go put a hot wet towel on my head until it gets cold. After I rub the wave grease in then I brush my hair for about five minutes. Finally I put on my due-rag and sleep with it on. I take showers at night. My waves are coming but only in one area and only in that ONE area no where else.How do I get waves for black hair?

be patient. it was happenin to me. i stop usin wave grease cause it dont work. i just use murrays light. brush ya hair alot. where du rags at nite and whenever else you can where them. wash your hair to. dont where a shower cap.

ur doing it totaly wrong. your supposed to get ur hair wet in the shower (NO shower cap) and then put gel or mousse in it. i wouldnt sleep on it so you should do it in the morning
how about you try to fingure comb instead of brushing? i find it helps because brushing sort of straighten your hair.
