How to turn dyed black hair brown?

I dyed my medium-brown hair black, and it turned out more of a shade of blue.

How do I get it out?How to turn dyed black hair brown?
I suggest going to a Salon. One that you trust. :)How to turn dyed black hair brown?
ugh...

I did that once and I was not able to get rid of the black dye until I went to a salon.....they bleached my hair...which caused my hair to get extremely damaged!!!! but that was the only way I could get rid of it. Im sure a salon can get rid of it without damaging your hair so much...I think I just went to the wrong place. Other than that...I dont really know how else..(I dyed it blonde lots of times but didnt get rid of the black)

Alright guys, I have black hair and I was wondering if that would look good with warm bronze highlights, help?

Also, if possible, can you get me a picture of a person with black hair and bronze highlights? That would help me decide. Thankss!Alright guys, I have black hair and I was wondering if that would look good with warm bronze highlights, help?
As a matter of interest why warm bronze highlights? Have you seen someone with this somewhere?

I think just black is just right! and as long as it remains such and you have no grays appearing then keep it so. When those begin to appear then think about introducing some other colour.

That's what I think anyway.

But if you do get it done - let us see the end result!

ByeAlright guys, I have black hair and I was wondering if that would look good with warm bronze highlights, help?
Yes

Would black hair or platinum look good on me ?

I have pretty fair skin, but I usually wear foundation so it doesnt look as light as it really is. I have naturally light brown hair, and right now its a mixed blonde colour (golden blonde, platinum blonde, and strawberry blonde all sort of mixed). I don`t really like it, and want a change. Browns aren`t dramatic enough for me. So I was wondering if black might be a good color, or a platinum blonde? Sorry, no picture.Would black hair or platinum look good on me ?
Platinum look would definitely look good on you!Would black hair or platinum look good on me ?
maybe.if u like it black.i have brown hair so i think it would look good on u

Can black hair dye cancel out the red, orange and brown undertones in your hair?

My hair has alot of warm under tones. And I was wondering if Black Hair Dye can cancel out those colors, or what other option would I have, like other colors.. I should use, I heard greenish or ';ash base'; dye will cancel out the red. But I'd like some other opinions.

Thank you.Can black hair dye cancel out the red, orange and brown undertones in your hair?
Black is black. The answer to that question is really with a question: do you want black hair?

If you don't want black hair, ash will cancel out red/orange tones in hair color. Don't think there is really a color that will cancel out brown, unless blonde or red count(guess they would). It really depends on what color your thinking of going. Do you want to be blonde? Or a different shade of brown? High lights can be fun too....Can black hair dye cancel out the red, orange and brown undertones in your hair?
no. black will color it all up. and your hair will be black. ive dyed my hair black...when i had blonde...

What vitamins help natural black hair grow?

No offense really because my hair is nappy and I'm about to get braidsWhat vitamins help natural black hair grow?
Vitamins alone is not enough to grow hair long what you need is a full hair care regimen

i've read about hair growing techniqs at

growafrohairlong.com

last year and i did what suits me and my hair grew like never b4

a general technique to grow hair long is to protect the existing hair and grow the healthy new hair from within

if hair growth = hair breakage

it will seem like its not growing at all

-so use protein treatment to prevent breakage and split ends

-take a healthy highly protein diet + supplementary vitamins for hair and nailswhich are

';Some of the essential vitamins required for healthy hair are:

Vitamin A

Vitamin C

Vitamin E

Biotin

Inositol

Niacin (Vitamin B3)

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B12

Vitamins and amino acids are the structural blocks of proteins and enzymes within the body. These substances become even more essential as our body is incapable of synthesizing it from other substances. A strand of hair is an extended protein chain constantly being added to at the root. Hair is not animate, and there is no option for an amino acid or protein to have any enduring effect on the hair health. Henceforth, the vitamins and minerals supplements can improve the health of new hair growth, though the benefit to existing hair is uncorroborated.

- scalp massage daily

- minimize manipulation of your hair as possible

normally Hair grows at an average rate of about 1/2 inch per month. so you should get 6 inches growth a year with proper care

MSM lengthens your natural anagen phase, which allows your hair to grow much longer. Your anagen phase, or growth phase, is genetically determined and limits the maximum length that your hair can reach. The hair growth phase (anagen phase) is one of three phases (growth, resting, and shedding) your hair goes through during its cycle. For example, a person with a 2 year anagen may only grow hair to their shoulders before it enters the resting phase. On the other hand, a person with a 4 year anagen will grow hair down their back before it enters the resting phase

but since you dont want to buy anything just use

satin or silk pillow case or wear a head scarf ';satin and silk don't absorb moisture from your hair '; when going to sleep

when brushing hair treat it like gold

start from the tips up to the scalp and if it tangels just loose the brush and untangel it with your fingers

scalp massage the for a good blood circulation

with both hand press your finger tips ';not nails'; on the scalp and move them in round motion make sure you're not rubbing your fingertips against the scalp but moving it with them for about 2 minutes twice a day , it gives a good feeling of relaxation and increases blood supply to the scalp which has good effect on hair growth.

use natural products when ever possible like Olive oil for moisturizing

a zinc containing shampoos, its proven to grow a healthy hair and prevent hair fall

finally minimize stress because it has a negative effect on hair as on the overall health by sports and meditation or worm bath in candle lights or whatever you like to do

and be patient because beauty is not achieved by night but its achievable

- minimize manipulation of your hair as possible, braiding is a good solution

normally Hair grows at an average rate of about 1/2 inch per month. so you should get 6 inches growth a year with proper care

to protect a curly hair you should understand that its dry because the natural oils are prevented from moisturizing the hair from the scalp by the curls even when the scalp might be oily , and more then that in every curl there is a weak point with more tendency to break

the solution would keeping it mosturized all the time by not washing hair more than 3 times a months with shampoo and using only conditioner when ever you feel like washing it

when washing do ';CWC';condition ,wash ,condition.

dilute the shampoo in water in other bottle before applying it to the hair ,after towel dry apply the leave in conditioner.

good luckWhat vitamins help natural black hair grow?
All of the best hair vitamins contain Biotin, which is a B vitamin. When you buy ';hair'; vitamins they cost much more than just purchasing a bottle of Biotin only. I personally use B100 which contains all of the B complex.

Your hair will not only grow longer but it will be stronger.
Vitamins B, C, F, zinc, iron, copper and protein are essential for hair growth. Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair.Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c/a> for more details.
vitamin E adds a natural shine to the hair, it makes them look beautiful
I have that same question. Take Vitamin E. my mom takes thats everyday. She said that helps.

Would black hair look good with blue streaks?

I have very curly dark brown, almost black, hair! Its about 5 inches past my shoulder when its straight. 3 1/2 when its curly. My skin tone is a light olive color. Would i look good if i got a bright blue streaks throughout my hair?Would black hair look good with blue streaks?
Blue is cute for the moment, but you have to dye it a lot. After just a few washes in dark hair, it turns into a greenish grey color. The same goes for purple...it turns into grey. If you are ok with the cost of constantly dying it, then go for it.Would black hair look good with blue streaks?
Personally I think strait hair looks better with coloured streaks than curly hair.

As your hair is curly I'd probably suggest not to do it. And I am saying this even though I think generally black hair with blue streaks would look good.

I had a friend who had blond hair and put black streaks in it. Usually I like this look but because her hair was really curly it just looked messy. I think you will have the same problem.

At the end of the day, if you want to try it then you may as well... You can always dye over it if you don't like it. :)
Try getting the tips done blue first instead. If you like the way it looks, when it's curly %26amp; when it's straight, put a little more blue in until you're satisfied. (:

FYI: when you color your hair, it tends to weaken the strands a little bit. When you flat iron it, make sure you put a heat protecting serum in it. I've found that CHI(catatonic hydration interlink) silk infusion works pretty good on my hair.

happy colouring;

WoW. You have beautiful hair. If you got blue streaks I would straighten you hair often. Looks better. So in my opinion, yes, go for it! I am gonna do something like that soon too! :)

Hope I helped
omg yeesss! i have like kinda medium length black haiir and i was thinkin bout gettin red streaks ! XD you shouuld deffff gettt !!!!

  • I want to add pink or purple to my naturally black hair, how can I do that? What can I use?

I have short black hair and I would like to add pink or purple to it so it livens it up... but most temporary dye products I found needs light coloured hair. Your really only suppose to dye your hair 2-3 times a year at the most or else your going to fry your hair out. Waiting 3-4 months between every dying. But then you can use the 72 hour rule which is not recommended. If you want to get pink or purple bleach your hair wait about 3 months or 4 and then dye it if you do it right away chances are it's going to fade.
You should get pink highlights with purple tips maybe or visa versa. And i would consider a salon.
you would have to bleach the sections you wanted to dye a different colour first - like stripping it

best go to a salon cause they know what their doing

    goodluck
Go to a salon. It is really cheap and you can choose to have it temporary or permanent.
You're going to have to bleach your hair which is quite damaging and when the colours fade out, you'll be left with blonde-ish streaks. I had blue highlights and when they faded, they turned green and then finally when that faded, they turned blonde (colour of bleach). So keep in mind that some odd colours may form on your hair.

Anyhow, you can probably find a product on your own...Manic Panic is one I've heard of, but it's temporary.

I would suggest extensions because there are a ton of shades of colours, it isn't damaging, and you can take them out whenever you want. I think it's cheaper too but Im not sure.
maybe go to a near salon.there u can pick if u want them to put the color permanently or just temporary

How to turn black hair into slightly brownish naturally?

I have black hair %26amp; I want to turn it into SLIGHTLY brownish hair without using highlights or dyes. Natural solution that will TURN my hair into slightly brownish not COVER it, if you know what I mean! Any idea? I've heard that brewed tea will add golden highlight to brown %26amp; red hair. How to turn black hair into slightly brownish naturally?
I have experience with this. I too have black hair naturally, and nothing will lighten black hair into a pretty shade except highlights or some type of dye. You said it yourself. Sun doesn't work, and lemon juice leaves black hair an odd shade. The tea thing won't work either. I tried that and it didn't make any bit of difference. There aren't any other options. Your choices are highlights or a dye. Also, in order to lighten black hair to a brown shade, some amount of bleach will have to be used. Not much and it won't need to be left on long at all seeing as how you don't want to go light, but you can't lighten black hair without it. It's not as damaging as you're probably thinking it is, seeing as how you don't want to drastically change your haircolor. Highlights are a very good idea too. That way you don't have to have dye on your whole head of hair if you're weary of that sort of thing, and they will soften the black color a bit. I recommend getting chocoloate brown or cinnamon ones. I tried those once and they looked really good. How to turn black hair into slightly brownish naturally?
Check out Henna. There are lots of different shades, it's semi-permanent and it is actually good for your hair.
rains hair with water of boiled camomile's ';after it is cold enogh '; after every wash . it will take time ... but it will give the hair blondy shed

    there are henna brown natural
you can put lemon on your hair, comb it through, and go outside to soak up some sun.. or you can go to a albertsons, cvs, rite aid, stop and shop, any fine stores and get this spray in the hair section ';sun- in'; it's really good.. you spray it into your hair and you have to either go outside and let your hair dry up by the sun.. or dry it with the blowdryer.. it's about 6 or 7 bucks

    http://www.sun-in.com/main/static.asp

there's the site for it if you wanna know more
Old school ghetto: Shampoo with Kool aid. Just don't wear light colors after you do it....lol...
I wanted to do that also and what I do myself is that One time I blowed dried my hair so long and hot that it turn slighly brown and what I did one time was when I went to Wildriver I forgot to take a shower in those hosey so when I got home, my hair turned yellowish only a bit at the bottum and where the water dried up last!
Yeah strong tea and sunlight, it gives great highlights, more one baby shampoo helps too.
lemon juice + fun in the sun.
    sunlight
Spray paint? India ink? Melted crayolas? I think it is interesting that there are more answers about lightening hair than answers to what can be done about making the world a better place to live.

How long does temporary black hair dye last?

How long does it take for temporary black hair dye take to wear out?How long does temporary black hair dye last?
';Temporary'; is a deceiving term when it comes to black hair dye. Trust me when I say that it will not wash out, or if it does a little, it will never completely come out. If you dye your hair black, make sure that you really like it, because the only way to get your hair to a different color is to do bleach treatments (I recommend going to a salon for this, don't try it on your own) or to let it grow out.

I (stupidly) dyed the underneath of my hair with temporary black dye about a year and a half ago, and it's still here! Luckily I happen to like it...heh.

The pores in your hair absorb dark colors very easily and won't let go. To make it more temporary (maybe), condition before and after dying your hair.

My suggestion would be to do a temporary dark brown instead. That will wash out much faster and easier, plus it will still give you an idea of whether or not you like the color! How long does temporary black hair dye last?
like 4 weeks depends on how much you wash your hair

Can you get dyed black hair to blonde with out killing your hair?

I have dyed my hair black for about 3 years and love it, but really want to have the tips purple/blue. But to do this they would have to be blonde.

Is there any earthly way I can do this?

One lady as a hair salon told me I was screwed and shouldnt have died my hair black.

    Yeaaa.

%26gt;.%26gt;Can you get dyed black hair to blonde with out killing your hair?
no.. ... you WILL kill it. believe me, I kill mine all the time that way, going from too dark to light. it took 5 hours once. just get some sort of protein pack to put on your hair afterwords. Can you get dyed black hair to blonde with out killing your hair?
yeah, my hair as been dyed black for about 5 or 6 years now, and theres no way i can go back to my original brown color unless i grow it out myself. trying to dye your whole head a lighter color would require it to be blonde first, which means it would pretty much kill your hair. most black dyes have metallic in them, so its impossible to get out. if you want to dye or tips another color, be ready for it to be a gradual process. bleaching your tips is going to make them look brassy until you bleach them again (then they might snap off).; good luck
For enough money, one can do anything one wants to her hair and have lovely, soft, beautiful hair. Find a better salon and a much better hair artist.
use hair corrector it looks stupid for a bit but in the end u can die it back to blonde

im about to do it my self for the reasons as u (the tips) i actually want the same colours as u but them im dyin the rest dark brown
i REALLY DONT RECOMEND IT.. YOUR HAIR WILL BECOME VERY DAMAGE BECAUSE OF THE PEROXIDE AND DYE CHEMICALS.. MY SUGGESTION IS TO PUT EXTENSIONS.. BUT IF U REALLY WANT IT BLONDE GO TOO A REALLY GOOD SHOP.. LIKE THEY SAY ..:: ONCE YOU GO BLACK YOU CANT GO BACK::.. LOL ..THATS WHAT ARE COSMETOLOGY TEACHER ALWAYS TOLD US IN HAIR COLORING THEORY ;-P
To get the black out of you hair could be tricky and very damaging. you could just bleach a couple inches on the bottom and then if it turns out really bad and damaged you could just trim that part off. I've known people that went to a salon to get the black out of their entire head of hair and even the colorist could not get it all out,so their hair was kind of blotchy, they had to just let it grow and cut it off. I also know of a few girls that didn't want it black anymore, but did not want to have the color stripped out so they just started coloring their roots chocolate brown,of course the bottom was still black but the chocolate brown blended. They also cut their hair in layers and they keep getting it cut to get rid of the black. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
Thats not a good Idea. But if you do do it, go to the shop
Shave it off first then color it, that way you keep the roots...
Hm. Maybe you can get extensions? Other than that, yup, you're screwed!
If you have dyed it black over and over, it will be impossible to get them blonde enough without them being fried and broken. Use colored extensions in the bottom layer of your hair. It's not too expensive, and no damage.
It should be alright as long as you go to a good salon. Have it done professionaly. If you do it yourself then your hair might not survive
Ok, 3 years ago I dyed my hair black for Halloween...before that I had bleached it blonde myself, so the black REALLY set in! I thought I was screwed. However, I went to a reputable (ie expensive) hairdresser and she was able to bleach it out and re-color it to a highlighted light-brown (which was alomst blonde). It cost $200 and took 2 separate hair colorings 6 wks apart, but it looked wonderful even after the first appointment. I had shoulder length hair at the time, and got out of it with only having to trim a couple inches off the ends where it was a little damaged after she bleached it. She gave me a cute haircut that required minimal styling. I had to be extremely careful with it for the next couple months to get it to grow. Washed it only when necessary and no hairdryers or curling irons for awhile until it started to grow out...also bought some expensive shampoo and conditioner that my hairdresser recommended that was easier on the hair. But, you should find a good salon and plan on saving up some money before you go. Good luck!
Yep - black is almost impossible to get rid of. My sister did her hair black and hated it, and pretty much wound up letting it grow so she could ';cut it out';.

And as someone who colors her hair frequently, I am assuming you've not smelled the ammonia that goes with dyeing hair blond with permanent color. This crap is lethal, and it will make your eyes water.

I would get a second opinion about the blond thing, because it will ravage your hair. It's still not as bad as getting a perm, but depending on what can be done to get it from black to even a little blond will cause damage.

You might wanna stick with the black!

Can I go from black hair to dark chestnut hair ?

I heard it's hard to go from darker to lighter colors, but I really would like soft, dark chocolate - chestnut colored hair.

I don't want to spend too much money...

Help ?Can I go from black hair to dark chestnut hair ?
i dyed my hair black a few weeks ago and the salon lady told me if i ever want to change it to a light color there going to have to bleach it!

so i think it will be expensive sorry

but yea i think u can! good luck! Can I go from black hair to dark chestnut hair ?
black is a really hard color to dye! you will probably get a coppery color if you try to lighten it, and if you try to dye it lighter it will either work or it won't change it at all. so it's worth a try, but if you go professional they will be able to get it done. if not, then it probably won't work!

  • What is a good way to lighten dark to black hair?

Okay, so i use to have light brown hair until i died it dark n its now close to black. Ive lately have gotten sick of touching up my roots almost every month. What should i do to help lighten it? highlights...blonde, brown, chocolate brown? I need some help to try and lighten it especially since it's summer it will lighten in the sun, but i hate the look of roots showing. I need HELP please! :)What is a good way to lighten dark to black hair?
    Bleach it.

Putting a lighter color won't do anything except fade quickly and damage your hair. What is a good way to lighten dark to black hair?
you will have to lighten it slowly with highlights if you want to maintain a healthy texture. go, get the highlights,be specific of the actual shade of blonde you would like. do not let them talk you into any type of lowlights, tell them you would like to lighten over time to avoid damage. go back once a month or so,repeat to desired lightness. the ONLY other option since you have color on your hair (cant lift color with color, only bleach) you would have to bleach it, then go over the blonde with your desired color....VERY damaging. i suggest the highlights darlin;)
Died?? Did you mean ';dyed';? Either way, it was the wrong thing to use. I didn't know anyone even used dye these days... we haven't used it for well over 70 years!! Dye is used for fabrics and leathers... not hair. If it was a dye, you can't remove it. You can only cut it off.

If you had used a real hair colour, you may have been able to remove it. If it was a tint, it would get lighter a little over time. When you are doing your roots, you would use a lighter shade every time.. and after a couple of times, you would be progressively as light as you wanted.

The proper thing you should do is remove the dark colour. DO NOT use a bleach! There is such a thing as a colour remover.... use it!! Didn't you even ask your colourist about this?? That is the only logical thing to do.... trying to do something yourself would be a disaster... since you don't even know what you used.

You can only lighten your hair with hair bleach, not chlorine bleach. But not knowing what you had used, and what shade it is now, it is hard to give specifics. That is why you discuss this with your colourist first before doing anything. Sometimes it's best to just leave it alone until it grows out. You knew you were going to get roots, didn't you?
like Maddie said, you have to bleach it. If you died it dark, there is no way to get rid of it without bleach.
i would dye it a brown color (like a coffee w creamer in it brown)

that wouldn't be as hard to see the roots:)

Can indian women use black hair products?

My friend has used l'oreal, sun silk, tresmme and a lot of other products but they all had reactions. So I recommended using olive oil. All the black hair shops I know sell Olive Oil and it was brilliant. But now she was thinking if she could try black products like dark and lovely, motions, african pride, sofsheen carson and so on. Have you tried any? Her hair isn't like a normal indian woman's, its much thicker and full of body and volume. Can indian women use black hair products?

I'm East Indian and my hair has a lot of body, is very thick, a little coarse, just a little, and wavy. I use black products and they work fine. Redken All Soft is the best though. I flat iron my hair or just the frizzy spots and then my hair looks fine.I just wash my hair and use Pink moistureizer.

I don't see why not. Some of the black hair products may be a little too heavy for indian hair though. You could suggest to your friend that she looks at the ';light'; products in the black hair section. It sounds as though your friend has lovely hair so advise her to avoid products with alcohol or citrus in as those strip the hair of natural oil.

    Good luck.
    sure why not

The only way to go lighter with hair color is to bleach it, and if it is home color you will need to go to the salon to get it out (they can do a color remover on you) this is to avoid that patchy brassy look.
head n shoulders shampoo helps 2 fade it

What is good to use or take to make black hair grow without breaking off?

Brush your hair gently with preferably wooden brushes to increase hair growth. Never brush the hair when it is wet. If one wants to grow hair, trim the hair once every month, just the tips will do. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c/a> for more details. What is good to use or take to make black hair grow without breaking off?
Try jojoba oil. It mimics the natural oils in your hair and it's not too greasy so you can use it everyday without worrying about build up as with some hair products.

Even better, try adding some hair beneficial essential oils to the jojoba oil, like lavender, rosemary and/or peppermint. Lavender is healing to the scalp and peppermint and rosemary stimulates the scalp. What is good to use or take to make black hair grow without breaking off?
use a deep conditioner and moisturizing shampoo because its very important to keep your hair moisturized to reduce brittleness. drink lots of water and green veggies--being healthy inside is the first step to looking healthy on the outside! make sure your wrap your hair to keep it from snagging onto your pillow!

How to dye my black hair lighter?

I dyed it about a month ago making it black black black. I'm currently in a different non English speaking country so I don't want to go to a stylist but my mom is visiting in a couple of weeks and is willing to bring me supplies. What would it take to make my hair more of a dark brown instead of black? If you could give me a list of the needed supplies it would be greatly appreciated. If I could get a hint of red in there too that would be great. How to dye my black hair lighter?
There is something you need to understand. ';Dye'; means that you are adding more colour to make something darker. You cannot get anything lighter when you are dyeing fabric or leather. Rarely is dye used on hair, although black is often a dye. Dye and hair colour have different formulas. You cannot remove dyes easily.

If you are talking about lightening hair colour, that is often referred to bleaching. Since you already have ';dye'; in your hair, and it's black (the worst possible of all colours), you cannot bleach your hair without extensive damage. You need to use a special product called ';colour remover'; -- all brands make them. It removes artificial hair colour (not dyes) and will not remove your natural hair colour. Remember that any dye you have used will have bleached your own colour so you don't have any natural left in your hair, only on the regrowth.

After you remove the artificial colour (it will be pretty orange), you will have to use the correct colour you want. Sometimes it will accept colour readily, so it may be darker than expected... use a lighter shade than you think. Of course, you always do strand tests to know what will happen. A qualified professional hair colourist knows how to do this, and has all the necessary products to use on your kind of hair. Buying something sight unseen is a risky business. I would not be able to recommend any product for you without an in-person consultation. How to dye my black hair lighter?
Here is something a little less harsh then bleaching. Baking soda. Get a box and take it to the shower. Form it into a paste and scrub your hair with it. This will lightnen it to a dark brown. NOW very important, your hair will begin to break off in little tiny pieces from the ends if it is not hot oil treated at least once a week for 4 weeks after you do this.
your mom goes to a hair salon and buys there bleach for taking colour out of hair. she must buy it in salon only, cos nothing else will wash out totally black dye. then u may take a very good and long look at your hair and say good bye to them. cos after bleaching black dye out your hair will look damaged and dry and most probably u will have to cut half of it

What will get semi-permanent black hair dye off a red carpet?

Or if not get rid of it entirely, at least get most of it off! What will get semi-permanent black hair dye off a red carpet?
You have a difficult one there-hair dye is meant to keep your hair coloured BUT you can get it off with hot water, a scrubbing brush and some detergent. If you add some Vanish Oxi Action powder to the hot water this will improve it. You need to make the carpet wet with the mixture and SCRUB and then try to soak up the wetness with a sponge. You might need to do it several times but it will gradually fade away. I spilled a pint of coffee on my beige carpet and had given up hope because it was several months later as I had been abroad. I did it once and it had visibly faded-did it twice and its hardly noticeable. I am wondering if I should bother to do it a third time but its hardly noticeable now. I am amazed that I could get this dark brown stain off such a light coloured carpet. Dark brown off red should be fairly simple but you need to scrub it with a good stiff brush. What will get semi-permanent black hair dye off a red carpet?
Try vodka or white wine. It should work.
I have had this problem myself and out of experience and a slight case of obsessive cleaning I have learned that LA's Awesome Carpet Spot and Stain Remover will work wonders for carpets. It has gotten out candle wax stains, dog urine, food stains, and hair dye. Simply spray over the area, scrub out the stain with an old rag and then dab the spot with paper towels and let dry. You can get it at Dollar General for just a couple bucks. I know it will work.
this sounds weird, but everytime i used to get ink on my clothes my grandma used to put milk on the stain. it always worked. Maybe cleaning it with milk will help :)
According to this website, a borax solution is the thing to try. They're carpet cleaning specialists, so I'm inclined to believe them!

DON'T scrub or wet your carpet too much, it will damage it.
I used hairspray to get the ink from a blue permanent marker out of my sofa. I used a little at a time and it worked.

How can one with black hair tell if he or she has really bad dandriff or lice?

My friend has white flakes throughout his hair. There are large pieces and small pieces. Sometimes I wonder if its just dandruff and/or an infestation of lice. How can one with black hair tell if he or she has really bad dandriff or lice?
Tie your hair back really well and comb through his hair. If you see black lice moving around, or small white clumps stuck to the base of a hair, and it wont come off when you put at it, then he's got lice.

If the white specks move around freely and there are MANY of them, then it's just dandruff. How can one with black hair tell if he or she has really bad dandriff or lice?
Lice are not flake like, they are round and more than likely he would see them move. Lice themselves are not white but black, their eggs are white. Again flaky probably equals dandruff, or some other form of dry scalp.

  • Can I Bleach my Black hair to get an Orange color?

Im a guy and I've never dyed my hair before so its not damaged. Its my first time in 7 years since i've grown my hair out (used to be bald or have military hair cuts).

I want to dye my hair Orange and is it possible to get an Orange color from bleaching. If thats possible how long would you leave the bleach in your hair. Can I Bleach my Black hair to get an Orange color?
When you bleach your hair keep it in for a good 45 mintues.

it will turn out like golden lab color ( lol) but then get like a red orange hair dye and repeat.

then you should have a orangey hair color.

    Have fun

    xoxo

AlexCan I Bleach my Black hair to get an Orange color?
Its not the kind of orange you want.

The orange that comes from bleaching black hair is unnatural and im sure you will be disappointed.

If you do want to go through with it however then just bleach for as long as you would any regular hair. The longer you bleach the more light it will become but it will still remain orange for a while.
Yes you would get orange hair because your bleaching out the black. It depends on the brand of bleach you buy, but i think its like 40-60 minutes to keep in the bleach, for best results.
I have no idea why you would want your hair orange. but, get a blonde dye and leave it in for like 10-15 minutes and your hair will most likely turn orange.
If you have black hair, that is what color the bleach will generally turn it. =)
in high school i used peroxide and it always came out bright orange.

How do I make black hair look more interesting?

Well I don't have black hair right now. But when my hair is longer, I want to dye it a very dark brown (that it looks black...I just don't like pure black dye because they are difficult to replace later on).

i love the look when theres white/bleach under a few layers so it pokes thru slighlty.

My friend also just put a diamond of red thru the base and th top off her black hair.

there are PLENTY of different things to do. most typiclly involving colour

How do I make black hair look more interesting?
things like texturing helps. i have long, curly, naturally black hair so sometimes, i'll just use my flat-iron and do curls, sometimes big for casual and a lil more refined for events.

    also, accessories too!

like, i would use a Camelia (i think thats how its spelled) but its this vibrant pink flower that contrasted well with the darkness of my hair, everyone kept on complimenting it, and it think it looks really pretty
well as already suggested you could have it heavily textured, or for as quick fix funky look get some brightly coloured clip-in extensions, then you can have different coloured bit for every day of the week without the risk of damaging your hair.

Use peroxide that you get out of the store. It is the same as developer and it is cheaper. All the peroxide is going to do is strip your hair color. Depends on how light you would like to go is how long you keep it on with heat/plastic bag. Best of luck.

lemon juice and peroxide naturally lighten your hair

as with hair color/lightening your hair, you should deep condition your hair and use coloring shampoo to help your hair since you are lightening it

    best bet, get a professional,

What type of blonde dye should I use if I have black hair?

I dyed my hair black a month ago, and now I want to get 2 blonde streaks in my hair. But I don鈥檛 know what type of blonde I should use, because I don鈥檛 want it to come out orange-ish. So what shade or type of blonde dye should I use? What type of blonde dye should I use if I have black hair?
Dye is not the answer. You need to have it bleached - by a professional hairdresser who has the training and experience for this. It will be cheaper for you in the long run and the results will be great. Enjoy. What type of blonde dye should I use if I have black hair?
You will need bleach. If you put blond dye in your hair, it WILL turn orange or some other hideous color. There is nothing you can do about it. I would suggest lots of deep conditioner the day before and the week after you bleach and your hair should be fine!
You don't need Color. You need bleach. Color doesn't lift color.
u need to bleach it first, then use a white blonde color

    black eyeliner.

    bright pink lipgloss
eyelash extensions, lots of mascara and eyeliner.
I'm Korean. My eyes tend to look small because I don't have what they call double-eyelids, so I lightly line my eyes with white powder. I got that tip from a magazine, lol and it really does look good. And then I use bare minerals on those little problem areas where a pimple might pop out of nowhere one day. and I finish with mouth-freshening gloss [not too much, just a drop ^^]

What are some quick and easy ways to keep my dark black hair healthy?

I'd like some ways to keep my hair shiny and healthy-looking with some quick little recipes made right at home...What are some quick and easy ways to keep my dark black hair healthy?
COndition, condition, condition! Use a really good product as far as conditioner goes. Try to stay away from Pantene and dove, and other products like that. THey are very waxy and can cause a build- up that the conditioners won't be able to penetrate. Tresemme is a good and cheap line but go pro if you want it really healthyWhat are some quick and easy ways to keep my dark black hair healthy?
Deep conditioning is the best treatment. Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Don't wash your hair with shampoo everyday. Skip days before you use shampoo again. Also, use hot oil every 2 weeks. Eating proteins will do the trick as well...
TO KEEP IT SHINY--- MIX A BANNANA WITH ABOUT 4 TEASPOONS OF ALMOND OIL AND APPLY IT TO YOUR HAIR AND LEAVE IT FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND THEN WASH YOUR HAIR AND YOUR HAIR WILL LOOK REALLY PREATTY AND SHINEY

TO KEEP IT HEALTHY ---APPLYA DEEP CONDITONER EVERY 2 WEEKS LIKE THE ';PAVES FLAWLESS UN DAMEGED GOODS DEEP REPARING CONDITIONING CREAM'; THATS A REALLY GOOD DEEP CONDITIONER I USE IT AND IT LEAVES MY HAIR SO SOFT AND HEALTHY AND I HAVE LONG HAIR SO I REALLY HAVE TO USE DEEP CONDITIONERS REALLY OFTEN (HOPE IT HELPS)

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
    don't wash it.

seriously, extend the period of time between shampoos. it is kind of gross, but when you shampoo next time, it will be very healthy and shiny. you will love it.
ok here is a healthy recipe: take your hair, put in pan with oil and butter, some garlic and onion , make it brown...add some peeled tomatoes.........
Olive oil, or mayonnaise. Like put mayonnaise on hair over night with a show cap on, and also protects your hair from getting bugs, also using intensive conditioner would work. Right now I'm using a leave in conditioner from Paul Mitchell and it works so great, only a pea size of that stuff will make your hair soft and shiny.
Mix fresh egg yolk with a coffee spoon of Castor oil and add bone marrow (cooked beef bone, separate the bone marrow by slightly dabbing it on a clean surface), apply on wet, clean hair(after washed by a mild shampoo, rinse well), let it stay for 10-15 minutes, make slight foam, rinse well. Repeat once a week.
    massage with wheatgerm oil
washing your hair with beer; raw egg shampoo; slight dab of baby oil as you style your hair.

Don't forget to have your hair trimmed every 6-8wks. Consider it a maintenance tune-up, like your car. This helps with split ends to keep your hair healthy.
never ever put it in the toaster.
    Jojoba oil.

How can you lighten naturally black hair into dark brown?

i don' to use any shampoos or go to a salon. How can you lighten naturally black hair into dark brown?
Lemon Juice does lift hair....in your case it will lift you to ORANGE!

Go and buy a hair color in the dark to medium ASH brown range.(better yet get both, medium and dark ash brown and mix them together for a custom color closer to your skin tone). I say ASH because the coolness of the color will counteract the RED that will naturally come out of your hair as you lighten it.

The color on the box may not look like what you want, but remember that is NOT the color you will end up with, color is a combination of your natural hair color(underlying pigmant),and the BASE of the dye you choose. How can you lighten naturally black hair into dark brown?
Do not use lemon juice on black hair....it will turn orange or red (not a good red).....your best bet is to dye it with hair dye. If you are wanting to go more than 2 or 3 shades lighter than what you have now please go to a professional for the best results.
hmm i would say to go to a salon or a place like cvs pharmacy and get one of their box dyes.
lemon juice really does work! put a little in your shampoo bottle and mix it all up. after a month or so of using the lemon juice/shampoo mix your hair should become lighter, it worked for me :)
yes. lemon juice really works. you can put lemon juice on your hair and sit at the sun. and your hair will change color.
Go to a hairdressers, they will colour it using a 20. Vol peroxide and it lightens it :)

How can I, an african american, with black hair safely dye my hair to platinum blonde or like a pastel yellow?

I want to do this safely without damaging or killing it beyond repair. How can I, an african american, with black hair safely dye my hair to platinum blonde or like a pastel yellow?
no matter what you do or who does it for you, it's going to really damage it. bleach is what you would need, with either 40 or 50 volume peroxide and both are really damaging. and you would even probably have to do it 2-3 times, and then use a toner. i would say use 40 volume. the first time it will make your hair really yellow with lighter yellow roots. then bleach it again. you will probably have to bleach it a third time, but the third time use 30 volume peroxide and only bleach the lengths. don't bleach your roots again since they're already really light. apply bleach with a tint brush and leave it on for a maximum of an hour each time you bleach. add ardell unred and red gold corrector plus to the bleach to help remove more yellow. you will want to do all that bleaching over a course of a week. bleach too soon and it will really kill your hair. then you will want to use a toner to get it platinum. toner isn't damaging, it's a mild, permanent hair dye that is meant to be used on hair that has just been bleached to make it look more natural. try wella color charm toner in white lady, it's a really light, platinum blonde color. it comes in 2 ounces and requires 4 ounces of 20 volume peroxide. you will also need gloves and an applicator bottle. apply it immediately after you shampoo out the last bleaching. towel dry your hair, apply it and leave it on for 30 minutes, rinse and condition. then use this product line: http://www.redken.com/products/haircare//a>

it's meant for really damaged hair and will bring it back. use those products over a course of a few weeks and your hair will get better. good luck! How can I, an african american, with black hair safely dye my hair to platinum blonde or like a pastel yellow?
It would look miles better just a light brown, more natural %26amp; classy but it if you really want to dye it platinum blonde or whatever go to a salon, but I really recommend to only go as light as light brown
there really is no safe way. you'd have to bleach or colorstrip your hair, which both is damaging.

BUT WHY YELLOW?? it wont look good, no offence.
Why dont you go to a salon?

You need a relaxer, not a perm. It's best to get it done in a salon, the stylist know what their doing, so the outcome will be better.
relaxers are permanent, but once your hair grows your going to need to straighten your new growth if your relaxer doesn't last long it's because your hair grows fast

i dyed my hair black like a month ago and my mom freaked out. i got prell shampoo from the drugstore..it is known for fading too-dark hair dye. also if you heat up olive oil and wrap your head in a towel for 15 minutes before washing it with prell..it works really well. the sooner you wash it after its dyed..the easier it can be removed. Is there anything that you can take black hair dye out?
Nothing is going to work to take it out completely, and anything you use will be hard on your hair. Your best bet is to have it stripped professionally and then re-dye it your natural color, and use repair serum a few times a week to repair it. I bleached my hair to take out the black dye, (I have really light natural hair) and it was pretty harsh. My sister has the same hair and took the black dye out with stripping and using repair serum, and her hair was the same as before she dyed it.
No...Natural stuff isn't strong enough to take Black hair color out...If it even works, It will turn your hair orange...The only way to get black hair color out, Is bleach(or stripping it.), or letting it all grow out.
i know someone who used to lighten there normal hair color by using poroxide (the stuff you put on cuts or wounds) and sit in the sun.

No it can't, if you use temporary costume streaks you'll just look like you've got temporary costume streaks in your hair. Either you dye it or you enjoy having dark hair. Look at all the people who dye their hair dark, dark hair is shiny and beautiful.
you can use a product or chemical that strips the color out of your hair but i dont know much about it and how damaging it is. I would check at Sally's or go to a professional stylist or something before using it
no, im sorry you cant. you cant make black hair lighter without bleaching it first.
No. Bleach your hair to whatever shade of blonde you want and use expensive, good conditioner. Keep up with the roots and look after your hair.
    not without bleach sorry

What is the best and easiest way to dye a few grey hairs on my naturally black hair..?

It is my very first time I am going to dye my naturally wavy jet black hair. I would like to know what is the best brand of hair dye to use and what is the best method? Thank you. What is the best and easiest way to dye a few grey hairs on my naturally black hair..?
My grandma uses perfect 10, it completely covers grey and she doesn't have ONE grey hair in sight :) !!! It's by CLAIROL ( Nice'n'Easy)

BEST OF LUCK!!!! And the easiest way is to go to a salon, but yeah, EXPENSIVE!!! LUCK!!%26lt;3 PS if its just a few you could pluck or use that hair dying wand stick thing, it looks like mascara but is actually hair dye. you could probably buy any of these things at shoppers or superstoreWhat is the best and easiest way to dye a few grey hairs on my naturally black hair..?
Well if it is only a few stray grey hairs, I would just pull them out! But if it's more than a few, and your serious about dying your hair. I suggest starting with a semi permanent color (which is WAY less wrecking to the hair) Loreal Color Spa carries a shade that is dark brown, but is actually very very black!!
get root touching hair dye like.. l'orel or what evers there. they all are good.. and do the same. and get the color that matches your exact hair color the best
i dont know.. but if its just a FEW gray hairs.. the best and easiest way is to just PULL THEM OUT! :D
buy one of the sticks that look like mascarra but is actually hair dye. its fast and easy. try Sally's
pluck them... or just use one of them stick thingys... then you don't have to dye and damage all of your hair...

  • How can I get rid of my dyed black hair?

my hair has been black for 3 years now and i tryed to use color oops. i used two boxes at different times and the color mostly came out. there was still some black left but i dyed it medium brown and now it looks black again. im pretty mad because i spent 35 dollars on it yesterday and now i dont know what to do... PLEASE HELP!How can I get rid of my dyed black hair?
Stop trying yourself, you will burn your hair and then you will really have to cut it very short.

You can't remove black dye home, you will get orange hair or some ugly brown/red/orange with spots. For sure you will burn your hair too.

Go to a professional hairdresser, and also don't expect to get directly blonde or light brown. Some medium/dark brown or aubergine is the best you can get for the moment. How can I get rid of my dyed black hair?
going to a salon can be expensive and your hair will still be dry and damaged. whichever technique you try you should have a couple amazing conditioners to level out the stress. Redkin hair conditioner will make your fried hair soft in one use. Mane and Tail and Garnier Fructise are also fanstastic.

Ok I had this problem not long ago and now I'm platinum blonde again thank god and guess what I didn't go to the salon either! so what you need to do is get a box of pravana haircolor extractor and mix the sulfur up with the conditioner what this does it reverses the oxidation process so it shrinks the color molecule but you have to keep applying it on or else the color will return once you see that the color does not comeback you got to bleach your hair why? Because if you apply color on it will just oxidize the remaining black pigments in the hair back to black after you bleach your hair now you can choose whatever color you want your hair to be

If you can't get a hold of pravana haircolor extractor color oops works too just do it as many times until it does not turn black
ive dyed and stripped my hair probably five times or more and it is VERY bad for your hair.

ive been letting it grow out naturally for the past year ((my hairs brown, but the line still looks tacky))

in order to get it out evenly youll have to have it stripped out ((usually effasol is used)), then dyed to make it even. in the future make sure to use semi-perm if you dye it black again. black is the most difficult and damaging to correct. so make sure you remember next time, how much trouble it was to get it out.
This is not something you should attempt to fix at home. Since you've been coloring your hair black for 3 years there is alot of color build up on your hair. You need to go to a salon and let a trained professional strip it for you. It will cost $100 or so. I know it's alot of money but if you strip it at home you will break your hair and it will have the texture of hay.
i did the same mistake and had to get my hair complely stripped it cost me about $120...its very damaging to your hair. if you keep trying your self then your hair can get a hay like texture or even fall out in some cases =T so i suggest going to a professional....
    Heii,

yeah i suggest going to get it stripped aswell!! it's prob not a

good idea to dye it for a while after you get it stripped and if

%26amp; when you do it again, i'd get it done at a salon coz it's safer!

    X kath

    Ps. plz answer mine:

    http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind/a>
Ok, you need to go to a professional. Go to a Beauty Salon and have your hair stripped immediately.
at this stage you need to go to a salon,to do it yourself would be a false economy

Also, what's the best place to put the streak? i want the bottom-ish part, i don't want it to start all the way from the roots/top. i have layers in the front, my hair goes down to a little beneath my shoulders. blue!!!
    Midnight Blue or Baby Pink
Oh, I wanted colored streaks so I bought some natural hair extensions on Ebay. Yeah, real hair, not synthetic that was dyed pink. I would put them in my hair and it looked like I had dyed pieces. When I got tired of it, I simply unclipped them and sold them to someone else. Here's a link to a bunch of the extensions that I'm talking about. Baby pink color... and then there is a rainbow assortment of neon colors to include blue and purple...

    reddish orange forsuure :D
I don't know alot of hairdyes but a color you definately shouldn't get is pink. Pink is to bright on your complexion. Try bluish purple. Sooo cool. If you want you could use that wash out hairdye. Oh, and put it anywhere you like. It's your hair.
i say thin streaks of hot pink and a greenish-electric blue at the bottom like you said. you could get some in your bangs too (for bangs, i'd go chunkier.) if you want some really cool ideas for 'different' colors and styles, go here:

Blue or Purple and put it in the front on a big chunk of hair.
my friend has dark brown hair with a pink streak in it and it looks awesome.

find a nice section of hair on one side of your face, a little above your ear (so that you can tuck it behind your ear and it'll look great and still be visible). bleach the section first (to make sure the dye holds), and then dye it bright pink.

    it'll be great, i promise. :)

  • How do I dye my already dyed black hair back to a deep red?

I dyed my hair black from a deep red in October and though I am ok with having black hair I feel I am still better suited as a red head. I was told to get my hair stripped but i dont think It will do much as its been black for some time now. Ive also been told to bleach my hair and then dye it red. I would ONLY do this professionally. My hair is very thick and somehow still pretty healthy. What is my best option? How do I dye my already dyed black hair back to a deep red?
bleach it or get the hairdresser to strip the colour off or wait for the black to fade. How do I dye my already dyed black hair back to a deep red?
Your best option is to go get it done professionally!

They will need to strip off the existing black and then color with the red.

Color doesn't lift color so you really need to strip your hair first.

If you do this at home you are asking for trouble!
You actually do not have to bleach it.. I just did the same thing. What I used was a hair dye you can get anywhere (target, walmart etc.). Its called L'OREAL Paris Feria. It's designed to color hair no matter what color or condition its in. Good Luck!
It's gonna take ALOT of money and time. It took $250 and 5 hours to take my dyed black hair to a copper orange color. Then the stylist said not to dye it for a few months.
You have to strip the color, tone it then color it the color you want. Expensive.
    you have to bleach it

What is the best treatment for brittle black hair?

My hair just wont stop breaking. It feels dry too. What is the best treatment for brittle black hair?
Use a deep conditioning treatment at least twice a week. And, go to the drugstore, and get some vitamins. There are these great ones that are called Hair, Skin and Nails. They come in a purple bottle, made by a popular vitamin company that I can't think of the name now that I want to write it. But after about 30-60 days of taking them, you will notice a difference. Just don't stop taking them, or your hair will go back to how it is now.

Good luck! What is the best treatment for brittle black hair?
My hair dresser gave me the best tip ever, after you shampoo, apply your conditioner along with some olive oil to your hair and let sit for 5 minutes then rinse............nice and smooth hair, and a very fast fix!! Another thing I do is use nexxus hair emergencee twice a week.
it depends on the hair texture.

What kind of hair dye color can you choose to turn black hair into brown?

I have black hair i was thinking to dye it like a dark or medume brown what is the bes color should i pick to turn black into brown,What kind of hair dye color can you choose to turn black hair into brown?
Well You might need to bleach it first. But Dark brown always looks like a black, so go with like a lightish brown. What kind of hair dye color can you choose to turn black hair into brown?
Your best bet is to have it professionally done. Black hair is not lightened easily and will turn orange or brassy if you try to lighten it or use normal haircolor on it. Black is the most difficult to get out of hair, trust me. It will have to be professionally lightened. I would suggest maybe starting with a full highlight to give it an allover appearance of being lighter without doing too much damage to your hair.
There is no hair dye that will change it from black to brown.Unless you live in the states , because there is a product thats called colour opps!
Garnier has a line designed specifically for women with black hair.
    chocolATE
    dont die your hair!

i know this girl that did, and she now looks like aslan from narnia. it will turn red/orange!
bleach first, then try brown. usually works for me.
Something with a red base will look best. Trust me! :)
a very light brown color....or dirty blond maybe cuz ur hair is already black...so it probably wont go that light...but i dunno..dont count on me...that is just my opinion...

How would my hair turn out if I used a Volume 40 Bleach over black hair dye?

I just dyed my hair black, and now I wanted to bleach some parts.

I have a powder based Volume 40 bleach kit, and realized there may be some discoloration? Because of the red undertones in the black dye and whatnot.

    Would it turn out orange?

And if it ended up turning a yellow, would putting a blonde toner in it make it okay?

And would I be able to put color over it? Specifically a turquoise color.

Thanks. How would my hair turn out if I used a Volume 40 Bleach over black hair dye?
Probably red or orange. Unless you can get it to a lemony yellow a toner won''t work. You need to get it to that color also to use the turquoise. If you don't have really healthy hair I wouldn't recommend it.How would my hair turn out if I used a Volume 40 Bleach over black hair dye?
it will definitely turn out orange..i've used 40 volume bleach tons of times..and you should never dye your whole head and then try bleaching it lol...it will come out really splotchy too..

i'm guessing you're most likely using Flash Lightning?

it's one of the only 40 volumes you can buy without a license..

plus you will severely damage your hair, with having to take out the black dye along with bleaching the natural color..
It'll be pumpkin orange. No matter what volume you use over black dye, it'll be orange. Better to do a color strip and THEN lighten until you can actually use an ashy blonde toner... do it over a couple weeks though, to avoid totally trashing your hair in one go.

Can you dye black hair without bleaching it?

A while ago I dyed my hair black. So it is not natural. I'm getting a little sick of the black, so I wanted to dye it again. But I definitely don't want to bleach it, because i know how bad that is for your hair. I know if it is natural black than you would have to bleach it before dying it. Is it different if it is not natural? Or so I still need to bleach it?Can you dye black hair without bleaching it?
You have to bleach it though I wouldn't recommend it.

It will be harder since your hair isn't a natural black, like you said you colored it that color. Black is hard to get rid of simply because well... once you go black, you never go back; 100% anyway!

It will damage your hair severely because trying to lift the black will not just happen in one easy step. The first time, it will turn orangy, be very brassy. NOT a pretty color.

And that depends if you only have your natural color underneath, If you've experimented with other colors and dyed your hair more than once within 1-2yrs, the bleach will lift to other colors you've put in your hair. Which will result in an uneven tone.

And after you do that, well you hair will never be one solid color. You will have multiple tones.

Anything that you buy at sally's, you have to make sure someone who knows exactly what they're doing apply it for you. And when it says, ';for black hair'; means for NATURAL black hair, and yours isn't.

The only way to get the desired look is to go to a professional salon to someone who actually has a license in it, not just a friend who thinks she can do it.

Hope I helped you out and you take this into consideration!!!

P.S. If and when you do this, you will need a deep conditioning treatment or chemistry systems done at least once a week! Can you dye black hair without bleaching it?
Nope, needs to be bleached, my hair took 3 bleachings before it was blonde enough to add a blonde tint colour to it, goes ginger after the first bleach too!

Oh and hairdressers usually won't touch it either!

    X
you could but i tried it and mine came out orange. you have to go to a salon and get it professionally done if you want the right results. and if you do it out of the box, you are going to damage your hair
Yes you can dye your hair without bleaching.

They have dye ';for dark hair only';.

    It does work.

    No bleaching required.

You can find it in Sallys beauty supply store.
Nope. Color won't lift color. You need to lighten your hair before you color it, or it won't take.
you will have to use bleach to go lighter at any time

Can you dye black hair to brown at home?

I really can't afford to get it done at a salon right now. Can you do it at home without really messing it up? I want it to be anything but black. If so what product would be best ?Can you dye black hair to brown at home?
Do not do it. I heard lots of people tell me you couldn't do this and I still didn't listen. I wanted to go from black to brown however my sides of my hair stayed black but my roots turned copper color. It was so ugly and I looked like a clown. I had to get it done professionally and it still didn't look right. If I were you I would either go to a salon or let it grow out of your hair and chop off the black when you can.Can you dye black hair to brown at home?
yea just buy a dye thats a couple of shades lighter than what you want
Yeah just buy some blonde hair dye and leave it in for 40 minutes
Not without causing a real mess.
    Wouldnt you need to bleach?

Because your going lighter .. so i dont think so.

I really really want to dye my hair platinum blonde.

I will go to get it professionally done. But how much would it cost.

    do not attempt this yourelf!!

it depends what your natural colour is to how light you can get your blonde, if you are naturally black u cannot acheive this, sorry.

If its coloured then they would have to strip your hair of all the colour first. your has to be in amazing condition for this to work properly. then the colour will be corrected using a toner. its very expensive. you could ask around a few salons but the price will be unbelievable and not many salons would do it.you would have to settle for a darker blonde than platinum. Can you dye platinum blonde over black hair?
I had black hair and wanted to get it to a medium brown. At my first appointment, my hair was bleached with 3 times as much bleach as they would normally use. After that was rinsed out, my hair was colored, and that was the end of that appointment. My hair had a very coppery color and felt so brittle. A month later, I went back in and got colors weaved into it. A month after that, I had more colors weaved in, and I still have traces of the black. Its possible to do, its just going to take ALOT of work. My 3 appointments cost about $300 all together.
NEVER attempt to do it yourself.

A colourist will most definatly use an oil-based stripper to remove as much colour without stripping. You wont get to blonde straight away, the whole process will probably take you a good 6 months to a year and probably 5 or 6 visits to a salon, the easiest way would be full heads of highlights and toned, your hair will never come down the same colour root to tip.

All up you'd probably be looking at maybe 85 - 150 dollars each time, depending how long your hair is.. if its boy short, grow your hair out and you can bleach the whole lot.
You have to bleach your hair. Strip the color. Its very difficult to do yourself, and I wouldn't suggest it if you don't know what you're doing. My aunt is a beautician and I was considering going blond after having dark hair for a while now, and she suggested I didn't do it myself.

she mentioned something about ';colidicolors'; or something like that, possible kolidacolors ; apparently those bleach + dye your hair, but it might just be colors that aren't traditional.
You'll never get platinum blond to take over black hair in one sitting. It will take a few times to get there. To do it yourself will not work.....there is no ';high lifting'; hair colour on the market/drug store that is strong enough. It could cost a few bucks....they may have to strip your hair first.
Many trips to the hair dresser, alot of bleach, alot of toner, and alot of treatments.

I've done it before, took alot of time to get it to the colour I wanted.

Id say a nice salmon coloured lipstick for casual every day colour. For holiday, something more red and vibrant to draw attention to your face. Since you already have dark hair, a nice plum colour would suit you too for holidays.I have alabastor skin and jet black hair and green eyes. What color lipstick would look good?
try a really glossy clear, with maybe just a little glitter in it.
Quite frankly, those are great features to work with. I would say a pretty nude in the daytime, and sizzliing hot red at night!
    red..

    a peachy pink color.

    or just clear gloss
You can try on all lighter shades or pinks and browns
A BEAUTIFUL BROWN DEEP RED FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE THE KIND EVA LONGORIA WEARS BEAUTIFUL!
    light pinks
    nude or very light pink
I have alabaster skin too. A light pinky color with a nice gloss.
for you i think that light natural colors, of light pinks and peaches will do very well
A good coral or salmon would be nice. Red is fabulous and pink is nice, but take care to stay away from any lip color that is too blue/purply or too brazenly bright.
a cherry red color would look awesome!
Probably a good lipstick would be a pinkish color for your skin color.
I would suggest a mutual lip color since your coloring is so striking. Stick with a color close to your natural lip shade. Mac has a shade called Syrup that comes to mind. I think it would look great on you.
honey, i envy you.....that sounds like a beautiful combination, especially with your green eyes.

i think a very neutral lipstick would look great !!!!!!! like NUDE, oh so pretty. as far as holiday colors i think a deep red. but for an everyday color stick with the nude. it will bring out the green eyes. you also should consider matching to the clothes that you wear, just for something a little different.

in the 60's, we wore nude colors and black eyeliner and since retro is in style right now, nude would be good !!!!!

go ahead and try it........take a chance - live on the edge.

hope this helps and merry christmas and happy holidays to you.
your skin color lipstick will do I think

How caN i get rid of black hair without bleeching it?

try using burgandy color over it, it should give a nice shine tooHow caN i get rid of black hair without bleeching it?
When I dyed my hair black, I just didn't use the conditioner that came with it and it's been a few months and it's faded some.
Have streaks or foils done to lighten it, worked well for my daughter who dyed hers far too dark. Looked really nice %26amp; natural, but only if you get a good hairdresser to do it. As they have to be several fine ones so it blends in an give the impression of all over lighter. Lovely effect though.
theres no way to automatically get it to change from black to platinum blonde, so if you wanna go lighter, add some highlights that would look good with it gradually so that it's not one of those things where you see someone the next day and their hair is like, purple.
bleach is the only way unless you have the color stripped out of it

What are some products that make your hair grow longer black hair care products?

I'm half black and white. I have black girl hair so it's short and thick.I want it long.Any tips on products or just basic hair care tips.Please.What are some products that make your hair grow longer black hair care products?
There are no products that make your hair grow, just take good care of it. Get it trimmed every 6-8 wks, condition regularly, eat healthy and take vitaminsWhat are some products that make your hair grow longer black hair care products?
There is no one particular hair product that will make your hair grow longer per se, but good hair growth starts from inside. Make sure you are eating plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. I have heard of folks who have taken prenatal vitamins and swore that it made their hair grow, but a regular multivitamin will do you good. Also, a beautician friend told me to massage your scalp daily--it will increase the blood flow which encourages the hair to grow. My beautician friend recommends KeraCare or Avlon to take care of long hair, but I find them too pricey. I just use VO5 hot oil treatment, Revlon's Creme of Nature and LeKair's orange conditioning creme and my hair grows long. Get regular trims every six to eight weeks to remove dead ends which inhibit hair growth.

Once you start getting long hair, try to find hairstyles in which little or no heat styling is required, such as wraps or wet sets. If you must use a heating iron, try to use them like every other day and alternate by using curlers (If you use sponge curlers, invest in some end papers or else you will have frizzy-looking hair which can develop into split ends). Good luck, girl.
How long you can grow your hair is hereditary. Start by getting it trimmed every 8 weeks to remove unhealthy ends. I recommend Keracare products by Avlon. Use the moisturizing shampoo, humecto conditioner, high sheen glossifier for hair and scalp or the essential oils for hair that is a good leave in/blowdry protectant/hot oil treatment. Plan to spend around $50 on the product. It's worth it.
To add to Life's a Mystery,

Moisture, Moisture, Moisture! You should use great products in addition to eating well (add a multi-vitamin to your regimine), cleaning combs and other hair utensils (like scarfs), stop coloring hair (temporary color is cool), also curling or blow drying is not cool everyday once a week at minimum. Try to start by using a natural oil like rosemary oil to deep condition hair (it contains protien the only thing that can be added to the shaft) and Aphogee's Shampoo for Damaged Hair (the oil sheen is good too and not greasy), Elastqa QP Intense Conditioner Treatment for Damaged Hair (their bodyfying shampoo works well too), Paravenu Salon Shampoo. Use products that contain natural products so the closer to the top aloe vera or keratin is the better. Lastly, but a dandruff shampoo and claryfing shampoo and use whenever you need. Okay, hair grows an inch a week and it takes a while to grow so be patient but you must start at the root so eat well.

Oh, keep ends moiturized and you will not have to trim often because ends will not split.
I mean you can help your hair grow out... but each person's hair has a point it would grow to and it would maintain that point not really grow past it.

you can try pills like Perfecture and Pantogar... they help hair grow because they contain Keratin... which is the vitamin which controls hair and nail growth.

other than that... you just have tot be careful how u style it... becuase that's the major way in which hair breaks and doesnt grow
I'm in the exact same shoes as you and my hair is a little past shoulder-length. :) I used to get it relaxed, but that made my hair break so now I get it texturized and straighten it myself. Ion straight products are good for detangling when you wash your hair. Blow dry and brush first when you straighten, then use a flat iron with leave-in conditioner so it doesn't dry out. I've used this system for four years and I'm very happy with it.
Well..... the key is hair maintenance. So the product is not what make your hair grow. It is how you take care of it, what your eating habits are like, if you had long hair as a child. Regular end trimmings (every 6 to 8 weeks) products and not curling it every day or every other day. Try using Kera care 1st lather shampoo and Hydrating detangling shampoo with Humecto conditioner. Make sure you leave the conditioner on for about 15min and rinse then use Kera care Creme headdress. Put this on after your hair is dry. Less than a dime size should be enough. I hope I helped. Let me know how it turns out.

The best thing to do is take really good care of your hair.

    1. I don't use a lot of heat on my hair (curling iron, flat iron, etc)

    2. I don't wash it daily w/ shampoo, but I do rinse my hair when showering, just to keep the produce build up down

    3. I use leave in conditioner and moisture shampoo %26amp; conditioner

    4. I sleep with a scarf on my hair (to prevent breakage)

    5. I get regular trims and have a great stylist who knows black hair

    6. I also take skin, hair, nail vitamins and drink tons of water

    Good luck
just let it grow thats what i do all the time and it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice doin buisness with u!
