Would using hydrogen peroxide lighten my black hair to a lighter colour ?

I currently have black hair .

I was wondering if using hydrogen peroxide would make it a lighter colour or just turn it an orangy colour. I thought it might lighten it abit turning it into a not so black, black and towards a brown colour

thanks.Would using hydrogen peroxide lighten my black hair to a lighter colour ?
hydrogen peroxide on its own will have no effect on lightening your hair. all this does is allows the cuticles to open ready to add or remove colour from the hair.

all hydrogen peroxide MUST be mixed with a colour or bleach for it to have effect.

if you mix it with bleach, as tint will not lift a tint, your hair will go orange, to remover black from the hair, the colour process may need to be done a few times, depending on the condition of the hair and the scalp.

also please note that most bleaches are NOT suitable for scalp application, and no peroxide over 9% should be used as a scalp bleach application. (due to the risks of chemical burns).

ok for the thumbs down: in the salon when they want to lighten hair why is it called a BLEACH bath (using bleach +peroxide, and shampoo) and not a PEROXIDE bath? the reason is because PEROXIDE on its own wont work! peroxide MAKE the COLOR or BLEACH WORK!!!!!Would using hydrogen peroxide lighten my black hair to a lighter colour ?
well i have brown hair and i've used hydrogen peroxide in my hair...... well i used to much and it dried out my hair and it did turn an orangy color. and so w/ black hair it wold be even worse....lemon juice is goog for your hair... you mix 2 TB. spoons of lemon juice w/ 1/2 cup of water and put it on your hair after you take a shower.....it also makes your hair shiny
it depends on how long you leave it in.

if you leave it in longer, your hair will get lighter.

read the instructions on the back of the bleach kit because those usually show different instructions on how to use it depending on the current color of your hair to get the desired look you want.
it depends on how long you leave it . but i wouldnt try go all blond straight away . i would do it a bit a a time . just get more high lights each time
