How to turn dyed black hair brown?

I dyed my medium-brown hair black,and it turned out more of a shade of blue.

I did that once and I was not able to get rid of the black dye until I went to a salon.....they bleached my hair...which caused my hair to get extremely damaged!!!! but that was the only way I could get rid of it. Im sure a salon can get rid of it without damaging your hair so much...I think I just went to the wrong place. Other than that...I dont really know how else..(I dyed it blonde lots of times but didnt get rid of the black)
