How do you make black hair brown?

my hair isn't pure back, but thats the way it looks, and i want to make it more lighter brown. How do you make black hair brown?
I just did this recently and I highly suggest two hair dyes:

1) Dark %26amp; Lovely hair color. This can be found in the ethnic hair care section of pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreens.

2) Gatsby hair color. I believe this is a Korean product which can be ordered online.. google ';gatsby soompi'; and you can find people selling it in the soompi forums.

Why these products work REALLY well:

They are made for ethnicities that generally all have dark and/or black hair. I have coarse and thick JET BLACK hair and am currently a medium brown. At times, I have generated a light brown color by either keeping the dye in longer or going back and redying it on a different day.How do you make black hair brown?
go to you hairdressing salon, and tell them you want to go brown keep in mind you will not be able to go a really light brown straight away

but ask for colour eliminator, it might be pricey and take a few hours but wat it does is strip the colour making it lighter, so then they can put a brown dye over the top

:)
Dye it. There is a dye that is for guys called Just For Men.

Look at the box %26amp; it usually has a picture of what your hair color is now %26amp; what it should look like if you use the product by the directions given.
if you don't want to sye it, try swimming alot in the sun and hanging out in the sun. It worked for all the swimming guys at my school, although I don't think they did it intentionally.

lol go CA!!
You have to have it weaved out to a blond the your brown all over. I suggest having a professional do your hair. One you trust. Good luck!!
Just dye your hair. You can pick up some dye at the store or go get it done at a salon.
um, dye it!

Does black hair and blue eyes look good?

or is it too harsh?

im getting my hair done and not sure if it would be to harsh for the summer.

Or do you think dark brown would look better?Does black hair and blue eyes look good?
Definitely.

Dark hair and light eyes definitely make a statement, and turn people's heads.

However, the color all depends on your skin tone and the shape of your face, believe it or not.

Because it's summer you should probably opt for lighter colors, especially if you have paler skin. Black hair on pale white skin can be a bit too much as its a large contrast and it does not look natural, something you want to have especially when the sun is out.

If you think it goes with your skin tone, go for the dark brown. It'll look great with pale skin as well as with the nice bronze tan that you can get in the summertime. Even better, too, it will contrast your eyes and you will look HOT.

Good luck. You'll look great.Does black hair and blue eyes look good?
Black hair and blue eyes worked for Superman... But then again, he's Superman, right?

I'd say go for brown, honestly. Black's going to be a pain in the summer. It'll get hotter, and, in my opinion, just doesn't look right for summertime. I tend to save the darker stuff for winter and go lighter for summer, but that's just me.

However, if you have your heart set on the black, I think it'd be fine with blue eyes. Like I said - Superman!
I would go with a very dark chocolate brown. Black has a tenancy to be too harsh and if you don't have the right skin tone it can end up looking fake. Chocolate brown will be a little more realistic and it looks wonderful with blue eyes.
for me black hair is kind of harsh,

my hair is dark brown and I have blue eyes.

the dark brown is a little softer.
Black hair and blue eyes is soooooo beautifulllllll.......
Go for any lighter color because it's summer.

Your hair will get lighter too in the summer :)
I think that will look awesome.
dark brown because its lighter for the summer.
i think dark brown.

How do I remove black hair dye stains from my bath tub?

It's been there for a day and my parents will KILL me if they see the stain. I'm pretty sure my bathtub is porcelain. It's white and smooth. Sorry, that's all I got. LOL. Please help. Thanks ;)How do I remove black hair dye stains from my bath tub?
Use bleach. Spray it on and leave it sit for a few minutes and then wipe and rinse it off.How do I remove black hair dye stains from my bath tub?
hmmm you can try rubbing alcohol and if that doesn't work paint over it and if that doesn't work go to a home improvement kinda store and you can ask the person that works their and you cant find anything then you should get a sponge, soap, water and rub really hard before your parents see. LOL
i would try bleach if it's white.. or rubbing alcohol.. or maybe even toothpaste. not kidding. good luck!! and i hope you like the new look ;)

What should I do to my plain black hair?

Ok, I'm going to get a haircut soon and i'm like a prep. So i don't know what to do. I need suggestions. I want like layers and side bangs on my hair. %26amp;%26amp; I want some kind of streaks. But i don't know what color. My hair is dark black. So.. help! thanks. What should I do to my plain black hair?
I think it would be cute if you got a shoulder length haircut with layers, and side-swept bangs :)

Its hard to streak hair that is black without looking too streaky, so maybe you should dye your hair a dark chocolate brown to give it more definition, hope I helped! What should I do to my plain black hair?
side bangs are good but DO NOT GET HIGHLIGHT it damages ur hair

in fact once when i was getting my own hair cut, and another girl with beautiful hair was as well my stylist said how most girls have highlights which is horrible for ur hair

if u want streaks get hair mascara at a drugstore it washes right out if u want a change

but if u do get highlights don't get that ugly blonde color

its really annoying
i really think that one or

two streaks under your

hair in like purple would

look very cute. here is a

picture if you don't know

try some brown streaks. blonde streaks would make it look like a skunk. (no offense). maybe you could get some of those colored hair extensions. it looks like real hair. i have a pink one now. They also make blue ones with black horizontal stripes
I think black hair is beautiful - especially with a very - very light complexion
i think blue purple or sorta a deep red streak would look good in black hair and layers are good i have them i also have bangs side bangs or just bangs are really cute
dark purple or dark blue streaks would be good!

Has anyone used Color Oops to remove black hair dye?

I have been dying my hair black for 2 years, and I am now finally going to give in to my natural blond color. Does color oops work?Has anyone used Color Oops to remove black hair dye?
    hi i'm a hairdresser...

please dont try and use colour oops to get black outta ur hair, as its a non salon product, chemicals wont be strong enough to lift the colour, will prob go ginger and then u'll need to go a salon to get it sorted. with anything like colour correction cos it is such big chemical treatment to ur hair, it has to b done by a professional to ensure minimal damage to ur hair.

to get black outta hair it will need to be bleached...this is called colour correction.

it involves hair being bleached several times - will go dayglo orange...then an ash toner will be put on to make it less orange.

and you cant expect results to b perfect, it will take a few months esp if ur hair is dyed black.Has anyone used Color Oops to remove black hair dye?
I used this product to fix years of what my stylist did to me, I totally loved it, no damage, all the warnings were wrong (for me at least). A few minutes of ash blonde to get the red out, it is my own color again. No more professional coloring ever!!! 2x bleaching to minimize damage? No way!

i've never tried it myself...4 of the 1st 6 reviews on the walgreens website say they would recommend it. I didn't look beyond there. sounds like it may lighten your natual color. You might want to go there and read a few of the 150+ reviews....
im a hairdresser to and i agree with the other hairdresser dont do it!
just dye it again. than apply a treatment. But you will need to have a froster.
i have dye my hair black and the only way to get it back is to go to a hairdresser and have them work on it.
    im a boy idk

What types of people can pull off black hair?

For example, complexion, eye color, etc.

I'm thinking about dying mine black. What types of people can pull off black hair?
If i was you i wouldn't go black straight away!! If you change your mind its very hard to get rid of and you'll need to use bleach because colour won't colour over the top of it very well!! Also, black hair dyes from a box tend to come out a bluish black which looks almost fake?

Go for a dark brown and just go a shade darker each time!

Black hair can look very gothic and can wash you out..but at the same time pale skin and really dark hair can look really striking

I'd say pale eyes (blue/green) would look best as they'd really stand outWhat types of people can pull off black hair?
Anyone can pull it off as long as it's not really obvious that it's dyed. By that, I mean that you shouldn't have blond eyebrows/eyelashes. I would say that paler skin looks better than tanned skin with black hair. For the eyes, darker eyes would definitely match better.

Unless you're going for the edgy emo/gothic look, I suggest you don't dye your hair TOO black. If you're after a natural look, dye it a very very dark brown, like Asian hair.
Usually people who have a medium to darker complexion but not always
Most people would look good with black hair. Unless if your face is soft and sweet.....Then maybe not.

If your pale pale pale then it wouldn't look that great. But blue eyes with black hair is GORGEOUS

How can I make my Hair take Black hair dye?

I have colored my hair for over 15yrs blue black or darkest black, and I also chemically relax my hair once a year. Lately, I feel that my new growth doesn't take the hair dye like it use to, I have tried permanent semi permanent, maybe i am doing it wrong, any suggestions, or maybe a different brand? How can I make my Hair take Black hair dye?
I recommend leaving it on for a full hour- it wont damage your hair anymore than it would by leaving it on for 15 minutes.

Also- you should make sure that your hair is a little dirty when you dye it... if its clean it wont take the color wellHow can I make my Hair take Black hair dye?
i know it sounds silly but could ur hair be immune to the hair dye now?! try a different brand maybe..

How do I add color to my Black hair?

Last week i dyed my hair black and now i want to put in purple tips (not all over just in a few areas). The guy at the alon shop thing said to put bleach in it and then add the dye. But im pretty sure bleach will turn it orange wont it? Will the purple look funny if dyed from the orangey colour? And if i bleach and then put in the dye will the dye last or fade because its bleached and if it fades how do i stop it from happening? (Dye is permanent)How do I add color to my Black hair?
bleach it than color itHow do I add color to my Black hair?
you have to remove the color first and the only way to do this is with bleach.(color will not remove color) If you take it off too soon it could be orange, you want it to be lighter than that. So keep it on until you get it light enough. Apply the purple to the lightened ends. If it fades reapply the purple.
there are some dyes out there that have a prelightener built in, if you cant find one of those then i would leave bleaching then dying again and head for a hairdressers.

I also have dyed black hair and had turquiose put through here and there. It was done badly (by a friend) and looked like an old pis*y rag after a week, all yellowy and nicotine stained more than the bright turquoise i was wanting!
If you really want those highlights to show out,BLEACHED it first then put on the highlights thats why some of us are hairdressers.
If you put black permanent dye in your hair do not not try to change the color yourself. Go to a professional and tell them what you want to do. There's no telling what color that black will become. I hope the purple dye isn't permanent, but go to a professional to make this change. you will have to lighten the hair before you can add another color if you want the other color to really show and yes the purple will look strange if the base color is a weird color.
You have to leave the bleach in long enough so it goes past the orange stage. because its bringing ur hair from black (the lowest level) up to a level 10(the palest yellow). it has to go through the reds and oranges til it gets to blonde. it might not even go to blonde right away you mite have to do it 3 times. blacks so hard to get out. But make sure u dont leave the bleach in too long or your hair will fall out. I recommend going to a salon thats why we have them. As for the purple tips... even things that are permanent fade.
bleach doesn't make your hair orange, blonde dye makes hair orange. Now as for the purple tips, don't do it, its gay
    highlights
I think when that guy might have ment for you to color the tips blonde, a lot of people say like whenever someone is going to color there hair blonde they say that they are going to bleach there hair. what you should have done was color your roots black and left the tips alone, then take the purple hair color and color them. But it's to late for that so you should put blonde hair color in a tray and take a rat tail comb *it's a comb with a long handle, the teeth are close together* and MAKE SURE THE RAT TAIL COMB IS PLASTIC!! if it were metal it would turn it orange for sure. then dip the plastic rat tail comb in the blonde hair color then comb it in the tips of your hair. Then wait for a day or two and put the purple in the same way you put in the blonde. Good Luck!

    I hope that was helpful!
Lighten it or have it lightened with bleach and then dye over it
    go to a hair salon...
you will have to bleach it first in order to get different colour because black is obviously the darkest colour you can possible go then you will have to take the colour out of the bits you wantto go purple because it is lighter it want show up very well on black.
you can use products like Fudge.

    http://www.fudge.com/fudge/main/index.ph/a>

they're good. don't bleach it, specially if you've dyed your hair black it will stuff up big time.

no hair dresser would accept to bleach recently dyed black hair. trust me.

Price attack or Priceline would have this product.
They HAVE to bleach out the color, making it blonde NOT orange. the purtple will look cool. Quit being so worried and go for it. I did it and it looked absolutely awesome. Purple highlights on black hair.

How do i permanentely cover my blonde highlights against my naturally black hair?

i highlighted my hair blonde 14 months ago. ive had to dye over it 3 times so far to cover the blonde highlights, but they keep coming through eventually. what can i do to cover them completely? How do i permanentely cover my blonde highlights against my naturally black hair?
the permanent black dye is the answer. go to a beauty supply house and get clairol in teh black velvet color i think its number 50. they can inform you how to mix with developer but use a 10 volume. after you do that the blonde may pop through . if it does you should use a semi permanent black color as often as needed until it grws ot.How do i permanentely cover my blonde highlights against my naturally black hair?
    go to the salon.

sounds like the blond is over processed which is why it won't hold the color.

they are going to have to use a filler or stain your hair in order for the blond to hold the color.

professional hair color is much better than store bought brands. all of these at home color jobs are damaging your hair and going over and over and over the same color is not helping obviously, so let the pros handle it.

besides, a stylist can use exactly what your hair needs, box color can't tell you that.
you just have to keep coloring over it until it grows out enough to cut it off. because you bleached the color out of your hair to get it blonde it doesn't have any pigment left which is why it keeps fading back blonde.
why would you want to cover them completely. Blonde highlights are beautiful especially as we approach the nice weather. It will lighten up your face too!! Only a suggestion.

  • How to I go from my dyed, black hair to a blonde?

Can I remove the black hair dye or do i have to bleach it out?How to I go from my dyed, black hair to a blonde?
    You have two choices.

1.(this will take awhile)Dye it yourslef. This will be a process. ( I know because I have naturally golden blonde hair and I dyed it chocolate brown.) Go from black and the first dye job dye it a dark brown. Next time when you dye your hair dye it light brown. Next time Dark blonde (you may need to use the dark blonde for the next couple of dyes). Then whichever shade of blonde you like.

    2. Go the the hairdresser. This will probably cost a lot of money and be a process too. This may take many vists. My guess 3-4 visits. How to I go from my dyed, black hair to a blonde?
I would recommend that you go to the hair salon and they will strip/bleach the black and eventually color it back to blonde.
trust me do this professionally because to get the black out you would have to bleach it and if you try yourself you can end up with fried ornage hair
only ever go to a pro when going from black to blonde other wise it will look yellow and orange kinda like bacon.
go to the hairdressers and they will strip it out
I just did this- myself-today. Don't be discouraged by all the naysayers that want to send you to a salon. I have been doing my own color for over 20 years. Sometimes you get some interesting results, but that happens at the salon as well.

if you've got a sally beauty nearby or some other supply place great, but you can even do this with what they have at rite aid (I did because I live in the middle of no where).

Get powder bleach (superblue is my fav) developer (I use 40 but I know my hair is strong: you might want to use 30, 20 is a waste of time) and get to work.

I make a bleach bath with equal amounts of powder and developer (I eyeball it) then i put in a squirt or two of a sudsy shampoo (cheap stuff works great) and i mix it all in a bowl and then suds it into my hair wearing rubber gloves.

slap a plastic grocery sack on your head, put the blow dryer on it if you want (heat really helps). i don't leave it in very long- 10-15 min because i don't think the lift is too much after that time and you just have this gunk in your hair wrecking it; i prefer to do a bunch of shorter sessions that give me the most pow.

i started my black to blonde journey a week ago. i was going to let my hairstylist do it; but when i brought it up it was like i had asked her to build the pyramids in my back yard. she was full of how hard it is; how long it takes; how much it costs; how bad it is for my hair; that she can;t guarantee she can bring it to blonde; her negativity really threw me. I have gone black to blonde at least a dozen times in my life and it has always worked. I hate to say it, but she totally lost me as a client. she should have been thrilled that i was ready to spend the money and trust her, but instead she tried to make me feel bad or stupid for dying my hair black. I loved my black hair- i was just tired of it, and i bet it will be black again in 6 months. it's just who i am. i am shocked at how she reacted.

anyway, that was more directed at all the what i assume are hairdressers on these posts warning people it can;t be done at home. lighten up folks. literally!

so----i did the bleach bath about 4 times that first session. my roots were white my ends red. then i put in a temp(non perm) color to hold me over and let my hair heal a bit. I used an auburn colour and then i had a ball being red for a week.

last night i got to work again. bleach bath again- 2 more times; which left me white at roots and bright orange on ends. then a deep conditioner while i slept.

then today 2 more bleach baths- just hitting the orange stuff and keeping the dye off my scalp which was feeling pretty tight and tingly and not happy, but not in any mortal danger, and exactly how it would feel if i had spent the day at a professional having this done in one shot.

this resulted in 75 percent platinum hair; 25 percent very light orange. i washed in a toner for a golden blonde; i bought a box dye from rite aid that was on sale for $2.50. right now i have a light reddish blonde colour. i put in a deep conditioner for a few hours this afternoon and will do this every day for a week.

in a week or two i will blast more orange parts of the ends with a bleach bath (just once) and then do another toner ( i am feeling the light reddish blonde) and i suspect i will be done.

if you went to a salon (which i have done to get black to blonde everywhere from nyc to here in idaho) they aren't going to get it much better. you will still have that first month a bit orange and a bit damaged; and you will be out a whole day of your life spent in the salon and some major bucks.

just do it; i don;t get why so many people come on and say: it is impossible; you will go bald; you have to cut/grow it out.

It's 2008 for heaven's sakes; they make ti sound like we are living in the dark ages. This is what chemicals are for.

oh- if you have no beauty supply- you can do this wiht a kit you get in the drug store called clairol born blonde. the kit has the powder bleach and developer (don;t bother with the toner they include; it will do nothing towards lifting the black out of your hair). You will need a couple of these kits; so if you can get to a beauty supply place you will save money.

    good luck!

Will John Frieda collection brilliant brunette give highlights if I have black hair and wil it damage my hair?

I want to dye and get highlights in my hair but am not allowed to. So I was wondering if the John Frieda collection brilliant brunette will give me highlights if I have black hair and if it will wreck my hair? Also how long will I have to use this product? Will John Frieda collection brilliant brunette give highlights if I have black hair and wil it damage my hair?
Not really. What these products do is use a gloss color to coat the hair shaft with a hint of color to brighten an already existing color. They're not intended to be used to actually color the hair. For example, a blonde that uses a red based color shampoo (like the John Frieda collection) will not end up with red hair. They'll end up with pink hair. A person with brown hair that uses a red shampoo will simply end up with a reddish tone to their brown hair.

If you're looking for color to add some definition and dimension to your hair, you can try all natural methods like lemon juice (the acidity helps the sun ';bleach'; your hair) and there are products like Sun In that do the same thing. Will John Frieda collection brilliant brunette give highlights if I have black hair and wil it damage my hair?

if you are an asian female, i think a reddish brown is great. but if you are a male i would avoid any color at all. for some reason, the facial features/skin tone, watever doesn't compliment any color except black.

You have beautiful sable hair and want to change it? Why?
u cn put like a dark brown hiligh since u dont want ALL black
Instead of all your hair, try redlights. The contrast between the red and black looks SOOO good, and it's an easy look to achieve. Blonde highlights are another option, but they tend to turn orange. Also, blue or purple tints work well with black hair.
im korean and i got like a dark caramelish color....but i wanna get dark blue! or you could get like a coppery red

If you do deside to do anything let me just tell you, its going to be a pain. Its pretty much impossible to dye black hair any color with hopes of it showing. You would have to bleach your hair first to dye it any color, and that leaves your hair EXTREMELY damaged. Almost to the point where it could break off if your not careful.

But putting that asided. I playyed around with dark blue and red streaks and then settled down to brown highlights. you should try it, it would look good
There is nothing more beautiful than dark, black hair. It is sexy and sensual, and just flat out beautiful.

Brunettes always look for more sensual and sophisticated than blondes or redheads.

Leave your hair alone. If you have black hair, your probably have the most beautiful hair in the city.
black. i hate dyed hair on Asian people. black hair is beautiful! leave it alone!

Well, black hair is always nice with chestnut or red highlights! I know, cause I'm Asian and some of my friends have that! But Asian hair is naturally gorgeous.... why BOTHER about getting highlights?? xD

I cut my hair up to my ears in June and had it in a really cute choppy look. Right now my hair is past my shoulder blades. All summer I washed my hair with Tail 'n' Mane, then I would use the hair mayonnaise as a leave in conditioner. Then style as usual with the Feel-it Gro formula.

You can actually feel it growing because of the tingling sensation from the Feel-it Gro. And all of these used together make your hair really soft and strong. Stay away from Gels and stiffening hairsprays because they cause your hair to break.

And try not to use chemicals like relaxers and perms because it weakens your hair and it's not healthy. Try some natural alternatives such as a Press 'n' Curl. That's what I get. It keeps your hair strong and if the right person does it, people mistake it for a relaxer. What should I do to get my black hair to grow and be healthy (again)??
Hi. I've been using olive oil once a week for more than 15 years. Before goin to bed, i heat up a cup of olive oil (slightly warm), rub it all over my hair, wrap my head in a turban and go to bed. Wake up and get it shampoo-ed. It works, your diet is important too. Eating eggs does contribute to healthy hair too. A good shampoo and conditioner helps. All the best to a new hair beginning!:)
You damaged your hair because of relaxing now its too sensitive. I suggest that you stop braiding it as of now. Buy a baby shampoo transfer half of it in a seperate bottle then fill the other half with the extract or juice of natural aloe vera. Buy an aloe vera plant i suggest. Use that aloe vera and baby shampoo mixture whenever you take a bath. Apply a hair spa treatment to your hair twice a month, like Loreal hair spa or Semi-delino mix with hot oil. Then steam your hair by putting hot towels with shower cap for 20 mins. If you do not have these products in finland. Use coconut oil instead, then steam it. Remember to always brush your hair never to braid it because it must be treated because it has been damaged.
Prenatal vitamins. Plain and simple. They grow your hair a lot.
Your hair had become damage, so you must start over by adding extra conditioners to it. You need to add moisture to your dry, brittle hair. I use Mane 'N Tail Carrot Oil Cream and Olive Oil Cream and message it in my hair and scalp. This will help the blood to circulate and stimulate the hair follicles, which promote healthly, hair growth. Do this at least two times a week. Moisturizing and Messaging the scalp that's all you need to do.
i had the same problem, hair weak from relaxers and braids. eventually i got tired of the cycle and just cut all my relaxed hair off. for me that was the only way to get my hair back healthy, start all over again.

Having a lustrous mane is the dream of every man or woman. To get a head full of healthy hair, you need to follow some tips of good nutrition. We give you the most important tips to have healthy hair.

    1) Eat sufficient amount of protein: Protein consists of essential amino acids, necessary for creating new cells, including hair cells. The amino acids necessary for proper hair growth are: cystine, cysteine, methionine, arginine and lysine. Insufficient intake of protein over a long period, forces hair to go in the resting phase. They fall off after some time. Hence include adequate amount of protein-rich food in your diet. The best dietary sources of protein are lean meats, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, nuts, grains and seeds. Ensure 15% of your daily calories should be derived from protein-rich foods.

    2) Eat sufficient quantity of good carbohydrates: Carbs are the most important source of energy. They contribute to the development of body tissues, including hair. They are a vital source of B vitamins, necessary for healthy hair. However, you should eat non-refined carbs instead of sugars and white flour. Ensure you eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, brown rice and potatoes. Try to get 55-60% of your daily calories from non-refined carbohydrate-rich foods.

What are the best products available in the stores to dye black hair to dark reddish brown?

you usually can't dye it. you have to go to a salon so they can pretty much bleach the hair first. most people's hair is resistant to store bought hair dye anyway.

Is it rare for people to have black hair and very blue eyes?

My father is German and my mother is an Israeli Jew (I know an odd combination), I have very light blue eyes, pale skin, and almost jet black hair. It is something I rarely see personally. Is it actually very rare?Is it rare for people to have black hair and very blue eyes?
It depends where you live. I live in the UK and it's very common here- my boyfriend has the same colouring as you.Is it rare for people to have black hair and very blue eyes?
I have black brown hair...its not quite black..but its darker than dark brown. I dont have very blue eyes..but I do have light to medium green eyes with a little blue in them..and i also have very pale skin.

My siblings have the green eye, dark hair, light skin combo too.

I havent seen this combo on too many ppl really outside of my family.

My avatar is pretty close to my hair eye and skin color...the eyes just need to be lighter..and so does the hair. but its really close.
When i went to Italy i saw a lot of Italians with dark hair and blue eyes.

My grandfather was Irish and he had jet black hair and very pale blue eyes. A lot of Irish people have this colouring, although it is medium rareish....

A girl i know has black hair and grey eyes which i think is the rarest.
There are people in Ireland known as ';black Irish'; who have these traits, but generally speaking they are pretty uncommon.
I think that is the most beautiful combination of traits. You are very lucky. Post a pic I think I love you.

    hahaha jk
This depends upon where you are. It's common in some places like Brazil and New Zealand. Eye and hair traits are not linked.
no not in ireland scotland england and wales but in other countries it's very rare for people to have black hair and blue eyes
my cousin who is half korean and half white has very black hair and beautiful big bright blue eyes...she's gorgeous!

    except she's not pale..at all
yes, brown eyes are a very dominant gene while blue eyes are recessive
My dad is italian and he has black hair and light blue eyes.
It seems so i've never seen someone with black hair and very blue eyes before.
some russians have got very light blue eyes and dark hair.
    not in ireland.
not where i live in california, there's all kinds of people! your mix is sooooooo common here.
    Not, not rare.
To Me Yes. Mostly People I know with dark hair have dark eyes
i would say so. ive never seen anyone else looking like that. theres nothing wrong with that though.
not common but it is not rare
It must be rare...never seen that (naturally) I live in the US
not that rare, i've seen it before.
well i have never seen anhbody in my life like that, i wish i was like that! ii am assuming you are quite pretty. :)

How do i get rid of the black hair dye?

i have naturally light brown hair but its been purply brown recently, quite dark.

i dyed my hair ';dark brown'; two nights ago. it came out pitch black and its permanent and ive been trying to get it off ever since. im just looking for suggestions of what to do to get rid of as much of the black as i can. even if its just to lighten it.How do i get rid of the black hair dye?
Strip your hair with ';color oops'; it will probably come out an orange tinged version of your natural color.. keep your hair that color for a few days, and condition it well, then try using a ';cool brown'; shade. Good luck. How do i get rid of the black hair dye?
What needs to happen is the hair needs to be stripped of the colour (black) using peroxide bleach and then re-coloured to brown. Go to a hairdresser and have them do it for you. If you do it yourself you could end up with damaged hair that will look crappy. If you damage it too much, it will break and fall out or if it is long, then you may end up having to have it cut off.

    I hope it works!!!!

    GOOD LUCK
Hmmm...these are tricks to get the color out if your looking just to fade it out a bit.

    Dish soap

    Any Anti dandruff shampoo

    Any Clarifying shampoo

Sunday Shampoo by Bumble and Bumble

Each of these will make your hair pretty dry so make sure to condition after words. They definitely work, but only with patience - like 7 times washing your hair kind of patience! Good luck!
Better to take a trip to the salon. Hair is easy to darken but tricky to lighten correctly. If you lighten using bleach or a lightening kit you may turn it orange. Believe me I done it got the t shirt. Salon is your best option.

  • Is it possible to be born with black hair?

Is it black hair or dark brown? Is it possible to be born with black hair?
It's entirely possible to be born with any (natural) color hair.Is it possible to be born with black hair?
yep, my oldest son was born with jet black hair. He later lost that black hair and what came in was actually dirty blonde. My daughter was also born with black hair, and now hers is medium brown.
Yes , you can be born with either .
    well, it can be either
    Of course it is!
Yes, most people in the world have black hair. I am asian, I have black hair and everyone I'm related to has black hair. Not dark brown but black.
Well, I personally do not think that there is no such thing as jet black hair - unless it has been artificially dyed. Black hair is extremely dark brown and this can be seen when the sunlight hits it.

However you may like to check out the source below which seems to suggest otherwise.

Hope this goes someway towards answering your question
Okay so I'm with the others here. Yes it is possible to born with black hair. My only son was born with a jet black mop, lost it, and grew it back blond (like my husband!)

Question is... what possibly deeper question prompted this one?
Yes absolutely it is possible to be born with black hair
I think so, My mom says I was born with black hair, I am half white, half mexican.
    Yes, within human perception limits.

However, True Black is the complete Absence of Light.

So as long as the hair reflect some light, it is not absolutely Black. But on the human scale, who can tell the subtle differences?

So, we recognise Black as a range of colours from Black to some Darker shades.

Let's not Split Hair on this matter.
My daughter was born with black hair, not dark brown but jet black
    yeah
Of course, hair color is determined by genetic makeup. What ever genes combine for hair color will be visibly demonstrated in the child.
It sure is. I used to work in a nursery and there were many babies born with a full head of black hair!
    duh

What brand of hair dye will turn black hair brown?

like a box brand that u can find at walmart, or something like that, that is easy to find. What brand of hair dye will turn black hair brown?
Any brand can if you have never dyed your hair before, dye can lift 4 levels, but box color usually has 20-30 volume, so box color might not work for you. If you have ever dyed your hair before you will have to bleach it first, color will not lift color. Then you can tone it with a brown dye. But you only need to lift it one or two levels, not all the way to the damage problems. Then tone it with an ash brown color. And just to let you know, lemon juice is the same thing as bleach, but worse because it is a straight acid. It does strip hair, just like bleach does, just in response to the previous answer. What brand of hair dye will turn black hair brown?
i used to think the same thing, that u had to strip ur hair! i was DEAD wrong! after i accidently dyed my hair permanent blk, my hair dresser gave me this home remedy that works wonders!!! u have to try it to believe it! what u do is buy some lemon juice. fill up a cup with 1/3rd lemon juice and add 1/4 of conditioner(any one will do) put the mixture on ur hair and comb it through(it can get messy so have a twel drapped over ur shoulders) after u comb it throughout ur hair, towel dry ur hair, then, blow dry the mixture in ur hair-u should see it slowly lightening. when hair is fully dry(it should feel somewhat crispy) pour another cup of lemon juice and in the shower, b4 washing the misture off pour the lemon juice on ur hair. wash it off and condition it and tada!! email me and let me know how it goes!! goodluck! :)
it is veryy very hard to die your hair to a lighter color after its been black. it usually turns orange..sorry to sayy but i know from expericence! take my advise and go to a professionall get a strip and then die it the color you want! pleaseee dont make a mistakeee
i donno if u can go lighter with weak dyes like those that come in boxes. You will have to bleach it and die it brown over it. Or else pay to get it done professionally..

What would happen if i used a shampoo specifically designed for blonde hair, on my black hair?

I found it in the back of my mom'sz cupboard, and i'm just wondering because i'm always experimenting.. and i'm weird like that. What would happen if i used a shampoo specifically designed for blonde hair, on my black hair?
I don't think anything bad like your hair turning blonde would happen... Just that you might not get the optimum benefit of using that on black hair, as it was designed for the hair structure of blonde hair. What would happen if i used a shampoo specifically designed for blonde hair, on my black hair?
nothing bad, but because blond hair is a lot finer, it might not clean your hair well and leave it looking/feeling heavy. thats a huge guess though.
well, try it and tell me what happens
Well, if you're experimenting, do a strand test, and see what it's all about:)

How long does it take for bleach to come off natural black hair?

    *rofl*

It doesn't, you have to grow it out.

    ^_^

    - Pepper. How long does it take for bleach to come off natural black hair?
Bleach is permanent. You can grow it out (which I don't recommend because your natural black roots will look absolutely horrid with the blonde.)

I would suggest getting your hair to a healthy state and then having it dyed back to black.

What is the best way to get black hair to a light blonde?

i want to go to a light-ish blonde and my hair is dyed black now. also i want to put in black highlights after i get my hair blonde. so how do i do this at home? can you please list how to and where to get the products and what products are the best. also, can i jusy buy a really light blonde hair dye or will that not work? What is the best way to get black hair to a light blonde?
It takes a long time to lighten your hair. You have to bleach your hair so many times to get it to be lighter, and you have to wait weeks before bleaching it again. I would probably bleach it twice one day, then wait a few weeks, then bleach it again, and it's probably going to take a long time to do.What is the best way to get black hair to a light blonde?
if you go to walmart there are some loreal hair dyes that are specialized to make dark hair light blonde. i would suggest looking at those. if it's not the exact color you want you should atleast dye it like that for a month and then from that point on go lighter or to the color you want and then add the black.

    i hope this helps(:
first, wait a while or depends how long your hair has been black.

mine was about 3 months when i re-dyed it.

scrub really hard in then shower.

    sometimes dye still comes off!

%26amp; now just go to a salon and make them bleach it.

    simple.

when they bleach it they should ask how blonde you want it.

(i said not too blonde %26amp; it came out light brown %26amp; it was pretty!)

    good luck.
my sister did that. she had about 3 visits from the hairdresser to slowly lighten it up, cause if you do it all at once you will get a horrible colour. it just takes lots of highlights i think untill you have lightened it up enough just to dye it and then put your highlights in.
you bleach it first and then you dye it or you can dye it a few times or do it twice with a cheap hair dye and once with a good dye

What make-up colors would look nice on tan skin, dark brown eyes, and black hair?

I'm 12 years old and I want to keep it kind of simple, so no red or bright colors for lips or eyes, please. Again, I have tan skin, dark brown (really dark) eyes, and black shoulder-length hair with layers and side bangs. Any suggestions? What make-up colors would look nice on tan skin, dark brown eyes, and black hair?
here are some great tips for u

    # Pick neutral tones of eyeshadow; such as, browns and deep greens. Purples, pinks and rose colors are also a good choice for u. Try to steer clear of colors that are too vibrant, that may clash with your color. Stay natural.

    # Use the lightest shade beneath your brow bone to accent the eyes. Brush the next darkest color across your eyelid and highlight it with the darkest color in the crease of the eye.

    # Any color eyes look good with a smoky, charcoal eye shadow and dark liner.

    # Frosted lipsticks have the ability to make ur eyes really sparkle. Shade doesn't matter, but the frostier the better. What make-up colors would look nice on tan skin, dark brown eyes, and black hair?
You can never go wrong with a grapey-purple color when it comes to brown eyes.

But us girls WITH brown eyes. are very lucky. Because we can accually wear just about any color eyeshadow, and it will still look fine.

But still purple is the best with Brown eyes.

And. if you want to spice it up a little. make it a little fun. apply a light shimmer to the inner corners, and use the purple on the outer edges. It looks very smart and very pretty.

    (im a makeup artist).
Honestly, you're twelve. You don't need any.
    ok rlly

    ur freaking 12!

y the fck do u need make up

honestly, girls now a days care wayy too much about appreanence/

like wait until ur atleast in hgih school.
I also have make up issues. I post my problems on wish123 and got an excellent advise from an expert. highly recommend the website!
I agree. You are very young. If you want, you could maybe get a tinted mostiuzire, some clear lip gloss, and mascara. No eyeliners, No colored lips, etc. Keep it low.
Since you're twelve but even if you weren't I'd just stick with mascara and lip balm or lip gloss. Keep it simple.
A navy blue eyeshadow worn as liner will really make your eyes pop.I also like wine/garnet colored eyeshadows. Mascara is always good. And nude/slightly pink lips are flattering on your skin tone too.

How to keep black hair striaght?

I'm going to straighten my friends hair for homecoming. The problem is that shes black and i after 10 second of straightening it, it goes back to being curley. Is there anything i can put on her hair make it stay straight for 4 hours or so? I'm hoping there something affordable i can put on and it'll have a long lasting help. Thanx in advance.

Serious Comments only. How to keep black hair striaght?
Use a good sealer ( Paul mitchell Heat Seal ) and a very hot flat Iron. on african american hair its not uncommon to use one that goes up to 420 F or more. make sure you go slow over the whole hair shaft, taking only small sections at a time. finish each section with a small spray of light hair spray and brush through with comb.

    hope this helps

just go to like walmart and buy some straight hair style starting shampoo and condit and then use some kinda jell b4 u straighten it but it might not last that long so just go and have it professionally done and get an updo or something

How do I bleach my dyed black hair effectively?

I dyed my hair black about four months ago, and re-dyed it two months later. My hair is naturally blonde, and I'm ready to go back to that color. I know I'm not supposed to use hair dye packets, but I'm not sure how to bleach my hair. I don't want it to look sloppy, but I really want it blonde again. How do I go about it?How do I bleach my dyed black hair effectively?
That can be hard if your doing it yourself. I would go to a beauty shop and have them do it. I have naturaly dark red hair and I dyed my hair black, I got a color remover and that was a big mistake as my head looked like I had a tiger sitting on top of it when I was done. Black is the hardest color to remove and if your wanting to go back to blond then it might take several steps to reach the color you want. How do I bleach my dyed black hair effectively?
especially if it was home colour you used to dye your hair i would advise you to go to a salon and have your colour corrected.

you will need a colour bath/cleansing treatment to remove the cosmetic colour from your hair.

it may be more expensive but it will work and you will get a better result than you would from doing it yourself.

if you bleach it yourself it will more than likely turn patchy and /or orange as there will be more of a colour build up in different areas of the hair.

    hope this helps
I'd go to a professional, if I were you. I know it costs more, but you could totally destroy your hair, if you do it yourself.
Hot topic has bleach that works good

How soon does black hair color fade?

My hair is dyed black and usually starts to fade within 3-4 weeks going back to it's natural light brown shade around the top of the head for it to regrow all out would take ages so if you are in a rush then I would go to the salon and have them strip it back to the color you are looking for. Good luck!!How soon does black hair color fade?
To be honest I don't no of anything that will actually make it fade faster the more you wash it the more the color will begin to fade. It really is a matter of waiting or as I said before going to a salon and having it striped back. Good luck!!

  • How to give black hair dimension?

I have long black hair. What colors will give it dimension? I feel kind of boring with solid black. The cut I have suits me: long length kept, several layers, deep side swept bangs. Any color suggestions? I just want to make my black hair look dimensional, I don't want to change the color itself. Thank you!How to give black hair dimension?
I have long black hair as well (I'm Chinese) you could add dark dark black almost blue lowlights to your hair as well as adding some very dark dark brown highlights around your face (very sparingly)

This usually looks very natural if you do it at a reputable salon. How to give black hair dimension?
There are many things you can do. Blond highlights or any light color highlights though, they wouldn't really fit. Colors as in dark red or even a purplish color underneath or at the tips would work, but if you don't want weird colors in your hair. You could go to a salon and ask them what color is normal that would work. I don't think you can get low lights with black hair. But honestly, maybe a darkish medium brown low lights would possibly work. They would give your hair an illusion, a type of dimension. They would be noticeable, but not crazy. Hope that helped [:
hmm i barely see from your avatar xD

anyways i think blond could work

Because of your hair colour, if your hair colour was DARK brown and you put LIGHT brown highlights in it would look really nice.

Where i live i see many people with that combination i just said, And because you don't want the brown to be very noticeable there is no point in putting them hightlights.

How to dress un-goth with black hair? Should I stay away from black completely?

I just got my hair dyed and it looks a little (a lot) darker than it was supposed to. It's basically black now, and I want to avoid looking goth or ';emo';. What can I wear/not wear to accomplish this? Will wearing black automatically make me look like that? Anyone else out there have black hair? How to dress un-goth with black hair? try wearing your hair up more often, or if you have a fringe, clip it back, wear colours like pink or yellow more often, whether it be hair clips of clothes, avoid heavy black eyeliner! How to dress un-goth with black hair? Should I stay away from black completely?
Black hair is not just for goths and I don't think people immediately think that you are goth if you have black hair. Just don't wear black from head to toe. Dress however you normally do. Maybe add some bright colors to your outfits if you feel too ';goth';. I think black hair looks awesome! Especially if you have blue eyes, it makes them really pop! I have black hair %26amp; I love it! Rock it with pride!
um just wear what you usually do... a hair color doesnt define you i mean theres a lot of ';emo'; people with blonde or red hair its just not black
Umm u dont have to stay away from it completely. But if ur wearing a black shirt were light/white pants and reverse.

I have a bottle of pure coconut oil but it is dark in colour. Should i be using the unrefined white one?Coconut oil for black hair care. is there a specific kind you are supposed to use or any one will do?
Get the unrefined white coconut oil. It's called virgin coconut oil and it works better on hair because it moisturizes and conditions hair. I've never seen dark coconut oil, maybe it's mixed with olive oil or something else.

Darker to go with your hair, they make several eye brow pencils that can help you go this route, and after you apply it,get an old tooth brush and brush your eye brow,it helps to blend it in and look more natural.
darker all the way lighter wouldnt look right
    i would go with darker.

What brand pf black hair dye have you used on your hair?

I was just wondering. I have done it before but want to try a different brand. I was wonderingWhat brand pf black hair dye have you used on your hair?
I've used just about every brand of black hair dye there is xD

But I would say that Feria is definately the best. It fades the slowest, and is the least damaging. What brand pf black hair dye have you used on your hair?
I don't know the brand that they hold, but there's a store called Hot Topic (they have their own website if you don't have on near you [hottopic.com]) and the hair dye they carry it awsome! It's the best I've used and trust me I've dyed my hair a lot! Whatever color you need, the hair dye they have is the best one to look for.

  • I have dark black hair. I want to dye it red, are their steps I can take to make the dying proces easier?

I know that it difficult to dye black hair. I've never done it before. I was wondering what I could do to make the process go smoothly and quickly if possible. How much dye do I need to buy. Should I bleach my hair first?I have dark black hair. I want to dye it red, are their steps I can take to make the dying proces easier?
Look, if u want ur hair the same colour as how it is on the box, bleach ur whole hair first, then leave it for 2 weeks * so u dont completely rewin ur hair........then dye it!!

Best result in hair dyingI have dark black hair. I want to dye it red, are their steps I can take to make the dying proces easier?
Ive done this quite a few times..At walmart there is a 9 dollar hair dye called super blonde..it is a dying kit it will bleach your hair almost all the way blonde..depending on how fresh the black is and how long ur hair is u may need two boxes..but use it and 24 hours later you can put the red it and it will look good. hope i helped
I have very dark brown hair and dye mine red. I just pick a bright red colour, can't remember what brand now but it's the 'live' ones. I may have great hair that absorbs well but mine is fine! I only use one box but my hair is between ears and shoulders so it's not long. I also go for one that doesn't drip and leave it on for about 5 mins more than suggested on box.

    good luck!
i have to ask if your hair is naturally black or dyed? if it is natural then a salon should have no problem with dying it red, they may have to put a lightner on it first Can i just add that this doesnt have to be bleach - which strips your hair of all its natual oils and is no good at all! but if it is dyed, it is vertually impossible to lift that harsh colour, there is a product called ';strip'; and it does as it says on tin, i have never tried the product and i can only imagine the damage this will do. it can be done, but you also have to remember that Red is a ';Fashion Colour'; and takes differently on all hair also it fades fast and is very high maintenance. Go to your hairdresser - they might have a dye called ';Maji rouge'; this is an intense red, and will most definatly go over the black. PLEASE PLEASE do not do this yourself. the red dye will make your bathroom red and could ruin your hair.

    hope ive helped ???
do not do this on your own, go to a professional hairstylist.

You can turn into a mess if you do it your own: eg burning your hair with the bleach and making it too dry, having the roots more red than the ends, turning out into carrot orange... etc...

You could have it done by a professional for the first time, and then do it yourself in the future upon his advices.

Expecially as you never dyed your hair before, it must be very shiny and healthy now...so don't ruin it!

You can do it by yourself only if you wants 'shades' of red into your hair (using a reflexant or henna powder). Hope you'll be wise!
If your trying to save on money by doing it yourself, maybe you should consider going to a beauty school and getting it done by a student. I've had several upkeep services done at the schools without a problem. They have experienced instructors who check the students progress at each step. You'll probably pay between $30-50.
I am wondering the exact same thing, I want to get alot of blonde streaks and alot of red.. but i dunno how to go about it with black hair!
go to a hairdresser..its never worth the risk

What kind of Bleach Do I Need to Use for Black Hair?

I have Black Hair and I wanna change it to a Medium Golden Brown.

I've been told that I have to bleach it first.

What kind of the Bleach do I need to use for my black hair?

I've never tried this before...What kind of Bleach Do I Need to Use for Black Hair?
that will not work..it will not get the black out.

you have to get it professional taken outWhat kind of Bleach Do I Need to Use for Black Hair?
Any type of bleach. On the bleaching box, it will show what hair will look like after you bleach it. Some boxes, it will say, ';Not recommended on dark hair.'; You will have to read the directions on every bleaching kit to find the right one.

Personally, if you have some money, you should go to a salon so your hair won't turn up a mess.

I relaxed my black hair yesterday, when my sister came to visit she yelped and labelled me a self hater?

I am not a self hater because I love the human race. So what do you think?I relaxed my black hair yesterday, when my sister came to visit she yelped and labelled me a self hater?
There is nothing wrong with thatI relaxed my black hair yesterday, when my sister came to visit she yelped and labelled me a self hater?
Well, I have been a cosmetologist for 10 years. I recently can no longer handle chemicals in any form. They make rashes all over and even my foods are chemical free-no hydrogenated oils,no sugar, organic coffee etc. I never thought anything of those services before. We had a bladder cancer risk up 49%( I guess because the body absorbs everything and it lastly ends there where a negative ion can steal a positive one and the chemical make up changes to linger.) Anyway have you ever wondered what exactly they put on ? Google sodium hydroxide(lye) and MSDS. An MSDS is a sheet that must be on file for just about every product in the salon. Read this and you will never want to do that to your body again. I made a life change because of everything and while I'm still licensed I no longer wish to work with chemicals because of it. Even a relaxer without lye is harmful. Honestly I don't even use shampoo and conditioners anymore because they too are toxic(and my hair is down to the bottom of my back). The brazilian straightener is made with formalahyde. Yeah, the stuff they embalm people with. They put it on dead people and realized that it would make all peoples' hair straight. The product is left on for 3 days and when the client goes to wash it off they sometimes die from asphixiation.I am so serious. I wouldn't label you a self hater because of your choices, but you could show yourself some self love. Be happy with who you are. I even gave up make-up. Everything. You can do it!
I think you have every right to do as you like with your hair. Your sister was rude to you and I'm sorry about that.

She would really get off on me. I've had my hair lightened since I was a teenager (quite a while back) and have had it straightened for a couple of years. (It's naturally curly) But a couple of my gay friends said it looks better straight, and say what you will, they know style. I've also had some cosmetic surgery and get a facial every month.

A self-hater? The opposite. I like what I see in the mirror in the morning and want to continue to do so. So, game on, my friend, it's your life.
Some people respond the same way to tattoos, piercings, hair dye and anything that alters your appearance from it's natural state.

I think what you chose to do with your body (or hair) is your choice and isn't harmful as long as you're not doing it because you think other people will like you more for it. If you prefer your hair relaxed then do it, it's no bigger a change than a perm or braiding.
yup you can do what you want, and pay no attention to what your sister says. did you know that girls are inferior to men. jk
you're not a self hater if all you

did was relax your hair unless

the reason why you did it was

    because you are a wannabe

    whitey
My hair is falling out (I'm going bald), so I suppose that your sister would say that I'm suicidal....

If you sister wears make-up, ask her why she changes her appearance....
Man or Woman There is absolutely nothing wrong with relaxing your hair, so I think you shouldn't let what your sister says get to you!
Ur sister lives in the wrong century
I think hair is just hair and you should do yours however it pleases you not your sis
most people relax their hair (or chemically process it in some way).. whats the big deal!

    And blue/ green eyes.

    They change colors.

So which color do you think looks best with black hair, in general?

And how do I make my eyes POP?

:)What color eyes looks best with black hair?
i think green eyes look best. i have very very blue eyes and to make them pop i use mascara and a little eyeline, nothing else, no eye shadow, and it makes them stand out a lot. What color eyes looks best with black hair?
ok well i would just keep your eyes how they are bc there sexy and i wish my eyes were that color, but anyways i hava friend shes so gorgeous and she has lonnnggg straight black hair and blue ish green eyes and she wears black eyeshadow only on the lid. and eyeliner on the bottom and shes one of the prettiest girls i no.. but heres one thing i dont no shes really tan so it might not work with you just depends on your skin
Brown eyes always look nice with black hair :)

Out of blue and green, i'd say blue looks nicer, or dark green. But light green and black hair looks weird.

Try wearing a purple eyeshadow, goes well with green eyes.

Apply white eyeshadow in the tear ducts/corners of your eyes. - PRETTY

White eyeliner on your waterline will make your eyes look bigger.

    Hope this helps x
I think any hair colour looks good with any eye colour.

For instance my friend has black hair and bright green eyes, and she looks gorgeous, but my cousin has black eyes and black hair, and she is stunning too.
    Blue. Some mascara and eyeliner.
i have blue eyes and to make them pop i wear blue. and when i wear green they look more green.
I have to say light green eyes.
blue eyes look amazing with black hair

How can dye my non-natural black hair ice blonde?

I dyed my naturally dark brown hair to black about 2 months ago.

What products can i use to remove the black?

And what products work best to dye the underside of my bangs Ice blonde? How can dye my non-natural black hair ice blonde?
The only way to color over black color is to strip the hair and remove all color. Then you can color over it again with the color you want.

No color, even platinum blonde, will color over dyed black hair. The black color must be bleached or stripped off first.

If you want to do this, I'd suggest getting it done professionally so you don't damage your hair beyond repair by applying harsh products on your own.

Peroxide is flakey and can have all sorts of results, especially on black hair. You're liable to have orange hair or hair so damaged it will be burned on the ends or even fall out. Such drastic changes in color need to be done professionally. How can dye my non-natural black hair ice blonde?
You will probably have to go to a salon and have them strip it. It's really hard to go from dark to lighter and have it look right...trust me. Want to see what happened to me when I tried to do something similar to what you want to do?

    http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/image/a>
    you could try peroxide...a lot

What is the least damaging hair color for changing natural black hair to permanent brown or a reddish shade?

I'm sure this isn't the answer you are looking for as far as cost-wise goes, but a salon if given this question will find a perfect hair color for you that is not as damaging as store bought brands, but anytime you go lighter, expect some damage.

What coloured foils go best with black hair?

I'm a teenager and just got my hair dyed black

tomorrow i'm getting 4 or so foils

i want two on each side of my hair on the bottom layer

what two colours would come out/ look good?

i want colours such as pink and blue ect.

any ideas? What coloured foils go best with black hair?
maybe a magnetic purple or a darkish blue. if you do pink, it shouldn't be too light. :)What coloured foils go best with black hair?
I'd go with a dark blue, mainly because you don't want to bleach your hair too much. If your hair is already feeling like a haystack, I suggest you don't dye anything on the bottom layer.
i think purple would look really cool:)

pink would be a bit dramatic unless you're going for that.
    pink pink pink

    trust me
a dark red, or a darkish blue, or a dark purple maybe even an orange

Is there any way to lighten black hair without damaging it with bleach?

I've noticed celebrities (ashlee Simpson and Niki Hilton) have dyed their naturally blonde hair black, and then somehow got it back blonde without losing the length, or showing much damage. Is there no other way to lighten the black without damaging bleach? Is there any way to lighten black hair without damaging it with bleach?
they have over the counter dyes now that lighten dark hair without the bleach. they won't go from black to blonde, but they'll lighten black to medium brown. feria has their ';hi-lift browns'; line and garnier 100% color also has some options. i always assumed celebrities just have enough money to hire people to spend like 2 days coloring their hair.Is there any way to lighten black hair without damaging it with bleach?

there is no way to go from black to blond without bleach, color does not remove color. It will damage your hair. alot of Celebrities have hair extensions and personal hair stylists who treat the hair to minimize damage.

Whats the best hair moisturizers for black hair ?

My hair is breaking and very dry.Whats the best hair moisturizers for black hair ?
Try something that's anti-breakage. Protein treatments will make your hair stronger, so will hot oil treatments with a natural oil.

Hot oil treatment: Buy some extra virgin (or pure) olive oil at the grocery store. Warm it in the microwave and massage it in your hair for about five minutes. Rinse and wash/condition your hair like usual. Do this every time you wash. You can also leave it in over night with a heat cap or shower cap covering your hair. Olive oil helps repair damaged hair and makes it stronger. I noticed all kinds of benefits when I did 1-3 times a week and I noticed a good improvement in my hair's health.

Deep conditioning protein treatment: Get some mayonnaise, olive oil, and eggs and mix them together. Slather it on your hair and leave it on for a few minutes. DO NOT put heat on your hair via a heat cap or hooded dryer. Wash it out with cool water. Don't use hot water because you might cook the egg in your hair. The egg is the protein and you can also use it buy itself, this will make your hair stronger so it will stop breaking. The mayonnaise is a good deep conditioner and will give your hair moisture and shine. The olive oil will also help repair your damaged hair.

Those are cheap and extremely effective natural ways to improve your hair's health and you probably have most of those ingredients around the house. You can also go out and buy a protein treatment if you don't like the smell of mayo and eggs. Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise is a protein treatment and one of the ingredients is egg (ovum), Aphogee also sells protein treatments. I wouldn't go out and buy a hot oil treatment though, just go buy some natural oil and not buy some manufactured hot oil with all kinds of ingredients in it.

If you're not already start cleaning and conditioning your hair at least once a week, if not more. You can condition your hair without using shampoo. So, for instance, condition your hair 3 times a week, and only use shampoo one of those times, and this will help get your hair on the right track.

You should find a good anti-breakage daily moisturizer and buy some oil sheen (if you're relaxed) because this will help make combing your hair easier so you won't break off too much hair. If you're natural then try not to use protein regularly, like once or twice a month or it could have a negative effect - too much protein can break off your hair. If you use protein just remember to balance it with a good amount of moisture. I sometimes do two deep conditioning treatments: one protein and then a moisturizing dc after that just to keep a good protein/moisture balance so the protein doesn't break off my hair. I'm natural, though, and I've heard relaxed hair needs more protein. I was relaxed for 13 years but hated the constant breakage.Whats the best hair moisturizers for black hair ?
Try B%26amp;B oil moisturizer or Care free curl gold. You can also mix conditioner and water in a spray bottle and spray your hair with that. Basically, anything with water and glycerin as the first two ingredients. Hope i helped :-)
when you shower and use conditioner leave it in til you are about to get out of the shower then rinse it out then you could get a leave in conditioner to use on your hair so it stays soft and gives it moisture
i heard a couple of my friends (they're black) talking about softy or something.

i thought it was laundry detergent or something but apparently it's for black people hair.

    xD

I dont want blonde, i think either a lighter shade of my hair color or red.I have really dark brown, almost black hair. And im thinking of of dying it what color should i dye it?
You have to be careful with dark hair. To light of colors will look very unnatural and bad with your complexion. Lighter brown hair with reddish highlights would probably look good.I have really dark brown, almost black hair. And im thinking of of dying it what color should i dye it?
i think you should go strawberry brown, if that even is a color, i think that is a pretty color if u dont want blonde
i think you should just leave your hair your natural color. i like that color. but if you really want to die it, then go reddish because that really pretty too.

How do you get rid of black hair dye on dark blonde hair?

My friend is totally thinking of cutting it all off. Do hair color removers work? The roots have grown out and are about3 inches now. Her hair is down to her waist and looks like a skunk sitting on her head. Please help!!!How do you get rid of black hair dye on dark blonde hair?
color removers don't work...It has to be cut offHow do you get rid of black hair dye on dark blonde hair?
she can always slow put blond highlights back into her hair that way it is a slow process of removing the black without damaging the hair.
not a good thing. it will never go back to the way it was. the closest would be a dark blond, maybe some lite blond h/l.

not worth cutting all it off, it can be salvaged by the right color specialist. the bad news is it will be expensive. the other bad news is you might as well cut it all off if you try to do it at home.
my moms a hairdresser. you have to slowly strip the color out of it. slowly high lite it lighter every 3 weeks, because bleaching it all at once will totally damage your hair.
she could get her hair stripped and recolored to her natural color. Its bad for her hair, but its better then cutting off all her hair that takes so long to grow. Or, she could try an ultra lightening product. L'oreal Le True Brunettes makes one that will take it to a light brown/dark blonde. It would be much easier to lighten it from there. I would definitly talk to a stylist before doing anyting extreme
She needs to go to a hair salon - do not let her do it herself! It will need to be stripped and gradually died lighter and lighter. I naturally have dark blonde hair and went black for over a year. I had to get it stripped twice and then gradually had to get it coloured slightly lighter each time. Its taken close to a year, but i am finally happy with the colour. It probably wont be so difficult if she hasnt had the black hair for too long, but definately get a proffessional to do it!
Yes they do work. I would not suggest doing it yourself or having your friend do it herself.

The only problem is the hair will be extremely brittle and dry. And will need extensive conditioning after. It could be months before the luster returns. If she decides to do it's best to go to a salon and have a professional and do it. She will be a lot more satisfied with the results.

How to make black hair fuller and not bone straight right after a perm?

I was wondering because my hair is so flat right after my perm. How to make black hair fuller and not bone straight right after a perm?
well when my mom perms my 7 year old sisters hair, after she puts the white stuff on she doesnt smooth the hair out bone straight. so its still a little wavy. but my sister JUST started getting them.

Use big rollers and curling irons to see if you can make the hair look big.How to make black hair fuller and not bone straight right after a perm?
Roller sets....or try using a lower strength relaxer...you may be over processing your hair....
My hair tends to do that sometimes!!!! I know for my hair I use shine mousse and roller set it... works wonders!!! Try that it should do the trick!!!!
most of the times this is heriditary. try volumizing conditioners and try wearing curls and waves instead.
Sraighten it, and after doing that, blow dry it with a paddle brush for volume. If you dont want to let your hair get heat on it and you want it to air dry, use theCHS products and order it online at frizzoff.com( only if you have curly hair after the perm, theres treatment for that, too at the same site).

Would I need to bleach my black hair before putting navy blue in it?

I know that color shows up best on bleached hair, but I don't want it bright. Would my hair at least get a tint from navy dye if it's black?Would I need to bleach my black hair before putting navy blue in it?
If you try to bleach your hair and then dye it blue, it makes the blue turn dark almost to black because of a reaction. If you're trying to dye your hair navy, navy's pretty dark anyway so you might be okay without bleaching.Would I need to bleach my black hair before putting navy blue in it?
When your hair is black, you always always need to bleach it before dying.
find a schrink who also does hair on the side. you need help.
i think that you should dye your hair to a natural brown guys dont like girls who dye their hair dark colors
yeah you will have to if you want it really navy die you hair white!

What's the best way to get rid of black hair?

I've had black hair since the beginning of April, %26amp;%26amp; I want to get rid of the black so I can dye it back to my natural color. But I've tried a lot of different dyes that even said gets rid of black dye. I don't want to spend a bunch of money at a salon, so how's the best way?

I don't want totally dead hair, %26amp;%26amp; I don't know if I should use just regular hair bleach or ';Speed Bleach';.What's the best way to get rid of black hair?
at this point, it is very difficult to get your natural hair color by yourself.

going lighter from dyed dark hair is difficult, you have to bleach them, then put color over it to match with your natural color.

when you bleach it, uneven tone is more obvious...

What are the different kinds of locking techniques for black hair and how do they work?

I'm a cosmetologist, and when locking your hair there is mainly on way. some ppl use extentions in their locks, but those are usually temporary. and their is locking the natural hair. but mainly are the same. u should clean your hair first. u may want to make sure u dry your hair. section the hair in parts like u would do single strand braids, take some bee's wax one each section and roll it with your hands, or spiral roll it with a rat tail comb. make sure u roll them pretty tight. u can make them as big or small as u want. it takes at least 6-12 month for them to completely lock. so u will want to every few week or more. to rub them in your hand to make the locks tighter. the more u do that, with time it will lock completely. but i do suggest trimming the outer strands of the locks to make them look neater. hope this helps

Why do Asian and Black people all have dominate features, such as having black hair and brown eyes?

Is there inactive gene related to this? Why do Asian and Black people all have dominate features, such as having black hair and brown eyes?
it's because these genes are dominant - the geographic areas for African/Asian populations were more suitable for darker skinned people to avoid sun burn and sun damage to the skin. Some may have (you could call them ';inactive'; )recessive genes for blond hair , light skin, and/or blue eyes but these of course do not show on the individual and only a DNA test will know for sure.

scandinavians lived in the dark 6 months of the year so in the summer they needed to get D vitamin which they got thru the light skin faster (than if they had dark skin) both in the summer and in the low level winter sun. Vitamin D is an extremely important vitamin and if a person could not get enough of it (made by skin in the sun) they most likely did not survive long in the North

Blond hair and blue eyes may have been a human selective preference for offspring rather than natural selection, I don't know what benefit these would have in terms of survival in Scandinavia. Maybe the blond hair was a distinguishing mark for the Vikings so they would know their own.. who knows.. they may have killed off dark haired babies thinking they were offspring of enemies.. just speculating. I have never read anything about blonde hair and blue eyes in terms of evolution

eventually the blondes and blue eyes will disappear due to populations no longer living locally according to their genesWhy do Asian and Black people all have dominate features, such as having black hair and brown eyes?
I think these are largely climatic and environmental changes.

Fair people would not survive long in the desert or hot countries. Scandinavians tend to be fair and have a cool environment. That's my theory anyway.
They evolved to suit their environment.
why do white folk not have white skin,is there a genetic inactiveness.
Because they come from Asia and Africa

Which Racist Organisation do you belong to suggest that other Human Beings on this planet have '; inactive genes '; and therefore are not perfect in you eyes.

People like you spread hate - I hope you get banned !
It is determine by the dominate mate's genotype and phenotype and the amount of melanin.

In humans, melanin is found in skin, hair, the pigmented tissue underlying the iris, the medulla and zona reticularis of the adrenal gland, the stria vascularis of the inner ear, and in pigment bearing neurons of certain deep brain nuclei such as the locus ceruleus and the substantia nigra. Melanin is the primary determinant of human skin color.

is this a science question if so i think it has something to do with heredity bcuz not all black people look alike
Maybe they were first in the queue
responding to romanisis, white people do not have pure white skin as some skin pigment is still made - it is needed to protect from the harmful UV rays of the sun. If there is a faulty gene so no melatonn (which codes for skin pigmentation) is made which results in albinism.

    get a CHI iron
those generic ones don't work well, the heat settings are not as high. I recently bought a hai straightener and it works well; a lot better than the ones i used to by at the drug stores. the price is around $80 - $90
the iron u use 4 ur cloth. it really works. i have a friend that uses it.
    HAI
The Revlon flat irons, although not specifically made for black hair, have the highest heat settings and are the only straightners where the metal curves around the side so you don't get that indentation like the other ones. Gold is okay but even though it is marketed towards black women it doesn't get very hot and it has that rectangular plate that leaves a crease/indentation in your hair. Hai and Chi are somewhat expensive and most of the time you have to order them because they cannot be brought in a store. Revlon is the best way to go.
