What would I have to do to dye my black hair red?

My hair is naturally dark dark brown but it is dyed black, I now want to dye my hair like a cherry red maybe dark red. How much would that damage my hair? What would I have to do to dye my black hair red?
Damage it alot. Black hair is hell to get out, So you would need to bleach your hair, which strips your hair, literally out of it's color and pigment, then recolor with a red. What would I have to do to dye my black hair red?
I have done this may times on clients but not a lot of stylists want the hassle of doing this job but i love it because its a challenge. You could get the stylist to but red in your hair and it will take eventually(it could take a few goes) or, Because black hair is so harsh and a heavy colour you could get it bleached which is the easier/quicker option but make sure you understand that this could damage your hair so if you choose it make sure to treat your hair frequently. Good Luck
Well, you would have to peroxide your hair to strip it of it's color. It sometimes turns black hair red/orange and white. then you add your hair dye.

You might want to try this on a strip of hair on the back of your head under a lot of other hair that could cover it if you don't like it and need to dye it back.

Trust me, leave it to a professional.

Good Luck.
Depending on your hair texture, it can tend to make your hair dry! But if u use good hair products and treatments after you dye it u will be fine, mostlikely u will need to use peroxide ..some type of bleaching..
u can take hibiscus rosa sinensis and apple add a little water and rose extract , mix it gently and grind this into paste and apply on ur hair!!!!
