I'm asian american, and while I like the way most plaid looks on my body, it seems to clash with my extremely dark hair. I have a few shirts from Hollister that I don't even wear anymore because my hair is really long now. Is there any certain color of plaid that goes well with black hair? Thanks in advance. What colors of plaid should I go with if I have dark black hair?
I've never heard of anyone wearing, or not wearing in this situation, clothes because it didn't match their hair. I'm sorry, but the concept sounds proposterous to me. I understand not wearing certain colors due to the influence it has on the appearance of your skin's pigment, so unless these shirts have that type of bad effect on you, I really don't see the reasoning behind not wearing them anymore.
Consequently, any color of plaid would be fine. If you still insist on matching with your black hair, perhaps you should try a red plaid pattern since it's dark like your hair. A dark grey, or charcoal pattern may work as well. What colors of plaid should I go with if I have dark black hair?
I think a very dark green and black would look nice.
have a good day
I think that a red and black plaid will work.
Anything goes with black! Most anything goes with plaid if it picks up one of the colors in the plaid. For the best effect, I'd go with bright or pastel plaids, and avoid dark colored plaids. That might be why you feel you're getting a clash, you're not getting enough of a contrast.
If you want to avoid the problem, put your hair up in a bun or something, then you can wear your shirts without worrying about it. Or wear plaid skirts, and go with a solid color top that picks up one of the colors, and looks good with your hair.
Go shopping when you have time, and try on different shades, and color combinations, to see what flatters the most. I'd guess you look smashing in jewel tones! If you aren't sure, take along someone whose taste you admire, for advice.
I love plaid, it goes with so many other things! Good luck!
