Is black hair and blue eyes unreasonably uncommon?

I want a Caucasian character to have black hair and blue eyes. Now, I know that this is uncommon, so I used what little knowledge of biology I have to make Punnet squares and see how it could occur. The thing is, I have a feeling eye/hair colour traits are a lot more complicated than the stuff I learned in school, so I'm wondering: is black hair/blue eyes an okay combination for my character to have, or should I just go with brown, which seems way more likely to me?Is black hair and blue eyes unreasonably uncommon?
Hair color, skin tone, and eye color show very complex inheritance patterns. Although there is some basic amount of linkage, it's a lot more than a simple case of dominant/recessive alleles. Eye color inheritance is still a matter of controversy.

Whatever combination you come up with, it's all possible; just that some combinations are more likely than others. Is black hair and blue eyes unreasonably uncommon?
Black hair and blue eyes is uncommon, but it happens. I've heard that many Estonians have black hair and blue eyes. I myself have very dark brown hair and blue eyes. I think it would be perfectly okay; in fact a character with unusual physical characteristics is usually interesting to people. I used to LOVE Alana from Tamora Pierce's books because of her cool violet eyes.
that would look rly pretty. i have dark brown hair and blue eyes and i was thinking of dying it black... and it's YOUR character so you can make it look like whatever you want it to look like
black and blue is fine!
