Well I'm a fair-skinned black woman so I'm not exactly tanned (LOL) but I've done platinum blond highlights and red...red like crayola red (which is really hard to actually come out red as opposed to burgandy and eventually turns blonde when it fades).
I used to have black hair and was very tan...and I got caramel and golden highlights sparsely throughout my hair...it looked great!! the only reason i changed my hair is because i had it black for four years and was ready for a change. i thought about getting red highlights in my black hair...but decided not to because i thought i would get tired of it too quickly
I have blonde ones, but my skin's not so tanned. It still looks good with tanned skin though!





Red's cool too, my cousin's hair has a block of red in the middle of her hair. It's quite random!
