How do you get rid of black hair dye on dark blonde hair?

My friend is totally thinking of cutting it all off. Do hair color removers work? The roots have grown out and are about3 inches now. Her hair is down to her waist and looks like a skunk sitting on her head. Please help!!!How do you get rid of black hair dye on dark blonde hair?
color removers don't work...It has to be cut offHow do you get rid of black hair dye on dark blonde hair?
she can always slow put blond highlights back into her hair that way it is a slow process of removing the black without damaging the hair.
not a good thing. it will never go back to the way it was. the closest would be a dark blond, maybe some lite blond h/l.

not worth cutting all it off, it can be salvaged by the right color specialist. the bad news is it will be expensive. the other bad news is you might as well cut it all off if you try to do it at home.
my moms a hairdresser. you have to slowly strip the color out of it. slowly high lite it lighter every 3 weeks, because bleaching it all at once will totally damage your hair.
she could get her hair stripped and recolored to her natural color. Its bad for her hair, but its better then cutting off all her hair that takes so long to grow. Or, she could try an ultra lightening product. L'oreal Le True Brunettes makes one that will take it to a light brown/dark blonde. It would be much easier to lighten it from there. I would definitly talk to a stylist before doing anyting extreme
She needs to go to a hair salon - do not let her do it herself! It will need to be stripped and gradually died lighter and lighter. I naturally have dark blonde hair and went black for over a year. I had to get it stripped twice and then gradually had to get it coloured slightly lighter each time. Its taken close to a year, but i am finally happy with the colour. It probably wont be so difficult if she hasnt had the black hair for too long, but definately get a proffessional to do it!
Yes they do work. I would not suggest doing it yourself or having your friend do it herself.

The only problem is the hair will be extremely brittle and dry. And will need extensive conditioning after. It could be months before the luster returns. If she decides to do it's best to go to a salon and have a professional and do it. She will be a lot more satisfied with the results.
