I've been told to buy blonde dye and then put the color in.I've tried once but it didn't work.I cant really afford professional highlights and i just want to get it right.maybe buy better blonde dye?How can i make teal highlights show up in my dark brown/black hair?
blonde dye won't work. You need to use hair bleach to bleach it out first. Buy a highlighting kit. Put the bleach where you want the highlights. Leave it on until your past the orange stage. Then rinse, dry your hair. Next put the teal dye on your hair. How can i make teal highlights show up in my dark brown/black hair?
You seem to have missed the point, haven't you?
Any of the ';unnatural'; colours do not work like ordinary hair colours, so you need to prepare the hair in a couple of ways.
These colours need to be put on bleached hair. You need to make the hair open so it will accept the teal. Ordinary hair won't absorb the ';dye';. You need to remove any natural colour so that they don't interfere with the teal. Putting teal on black hair is black hair... and no teal!!
Remember that removal of colour (bleaching) is a permanent change. The teal usually is a dye (not a hair colour) and it cannot be removed. It will fade somewhat, but will always have a teal tinge to the hair. You can cover it up with something darker, but you will always have a stain of teal until you cut it off.
The smart thing that everyone else does is have a consultation with a qualified professional hair colourist. This normally is at no charge, at most salons, so there is no problem there. They can do a proper analysis of your hair, tell you if it is possible to do on your hair (take pics of the colour you want), if it would look good on you, and how they would do it. Ask about after-care, about re-touches, about cost, and how to get rid of it if you change your mind. When you have all the facts, then you can make your decision.
It's not all that hard, just takes a few steps.
First off-- Go down to Alabama and find a man who sold his soul to the devil for music. Ask him how he did it.
Next-- Once you have this knowledge sell your own soul for a pack of Nabs.
After that-- Take the Nabs to a hobo in southern Brazil and while he's busy chowing down, beat him with a soccer ball and steal his linens.
Then-- Armed with the linens (and maybe a few Nabs if you did it right) Head up to Florida and help a Cuban get into the country and give him the linens. He'll willingly trade for the door he floated in on.
Finally-- Take the door to a Salon and use it as cover so the employees don't see you as you steal their bleach, and teal dye.
Continue as everyone else has stated above by bleaching your hair and then dying it. Just figured you'd like to know how to acquire bleach.
I would buy a bleach kit, but do a test strand first so you know if it's going to react badly. If you used a titanium dye in the past (herbal essences is a titanium base, for example) then DON'T use bleach, your hair will pull apart and break like old underwear elastic that has been through the wash a million times. Lovely mental image. I've seen it happen, and it's not pretty. You will need to make the strips you plan to dye teal white first, and as far as I know bleaching it is the best way to go.
Bleach out the strands or sections you want to be teal...bleach them as light as you can handle...then apply the teal to those sections after you lighten it, and wash it off, towel dry them too...then apply your teal...apply a clear coat over them to help the teal last longer!!
Bleach the part where the teal is going thats how they do it proffesionally they dont dye it blonde then dye it a color they bleach it first (in the area where you want it)
Ok,
My cuz she's a paul mitchell hairdresser and she had teal highlights in the back of her hair so i think it should work soo
use bleach and then put the highlights where you put the bleach
yes, lighten the colour with blonde dye or even bleach and then apply teal dye
Not blonde color. You need bleach. Color and Bleach are completely different.
in order 2 get the teal 2 show up, ur gonna have 2 bleach ur hair, which u can get done at any salon 4 fairly cheap
