How can I get the soft, curly, natural black hair?

I am half-Nigerian, half-Trinidadian with a little bit of Mexican on my mother's side. My cousin is half Nigerian and half-African American. Her great-great grandmother is mixed. I have always been jealous of my cousin's hair because it is soft and curly. She's is really dark and black but has hair like a mixed child.

try cutting your hair. I have REALLY soft,black,curly hair. But it is shoulder-length. I've noticed shorter hair is curlier.
