if you want red chunks, you'll need to bleach the chunks first, then put red dye on top. It's a two step process. If you're talking about bright red, the process is the same, but I highly recommend buying the hair dye and taking it to a stylist, because the bright red will spread easily away from the chunks. i know from experience.
