Is it possible to have black hair or is it really just dark brown?

Some people say it isn't possible to have black hair.


I have ';black hair'; but on my birth certificate it says dark brown.

Perhaps when you were born, the people who filled out your information thought your hair looked dark brown. As simple as that.

Yes, there is a such thing as black hair. Hair color is defined by a scale of numbers from 1-10 (sometimes extending up to 12 depending on the scale) the number one is true black hair, the darkest hair can get. It is not dark brown, it is black!
