How do I lighten my black hair?

I have black hair and I want to lighten it to a light brown so I can put highlights in it professionally...How can I make my har go from black to brown? I dont want to spend 100 bucks for a salon to lighten my hair a little bit if I can somehow do it cheaper myself. How do I lighten my black hair?
1. Quick blue- This product comes in a tub or you can buy it by the pack. It's a very intense lightening action to be able to lift the hair fast and help strip out some of the color that's not wanted. What's great about this product is it's dust free, so when your mixing it up you won't splatter all the powder all over you and have to inhale it like you do with other bleaches. It also doesn't dry out fast on your head, where with other bleaches you have to reapply them. It stays very moist and is a on and off the scalp bleach. It's a very safe way of bleaching your hair without harming your scalp. You can mix it with 20 volume creme peroxide in a bowl, and then apply it to your head. You might only have to leave it on maybe ten minutes, just enough to lift the color. If you want to really strip the color out then I suggest you leave it on at least twenty five minutes. Rinse out with cool water and shampoo and condition.

2. Hot oil treatments- Now we all know these to be a great treatment for conditioning your scalp and hair, but in all reality these don't work at all. They do help strip or fade out unwanted color though. Leave it on your hair for about twenty five minutes then rinse out very good with cool water. You can also make your own with a mixture of olive oil with a little bit of mayonnaise. Just a few drops of the mayonnaise added to the oil will be sufficient enoughHow do I lighten my black hair?
First bleach it and then dye it whatever color suits you.
