Does having jet black hair make you a brunette?

Or is brunette just brown hair. I never really get this. Its either brunettes vs. Blone. So im thinking brunettes includes black hair.Does having jet black hair make you a brunette?

Black is a shade not a color so you can't have pure black hair. Therefore when people say they have ';black'; hair it just means they have incredibly dark brown hair. At least that's what I think, not sure though.

Yes brunette is a dark shade of color. Blonde is light color..and red is all shades of red. But brunette is brunette because most people have brown hair, and other lighter shades of brown. Blondes are blondes even if they might have dirty blonde (brownish blonde) shade of hair.
