Can you dye your natural black hair another color without bleaching first?

I want to dye my bangs a different color, maybe like orange-blondish? i have natural black hair and ive colored it before but it didnt work. and do you have to go in the sun? and how do you dye it?Can you dye your natural black hair another color without bleaching first?

since this is a resolved question i can't answer... but when i had natural black hair and i dyed it a reddish light brown color, it DID WORK and i DIDN'T have to bleach it. idk if it'll work with dyed hair, but you don't ALWAYS have to bleach first. depends on ur hair type.. i know it worked for me.

You have missed the point entirely here. You don't understand the basic concept of colouring hair.





You cannot ';dye'; anything lighter. To dye, means to make darker. It is usually used only on fabrics, but some people who don't know better use it on hair. Not always successfully.





To get blonde, you need to bleach. That means to remove colour. Those are the only two things you can do to hair colour -- add colour, or remove colour. Nothing else.





You really don't know anything about hair colouring (it didn't work last time) so I really suggest that you at least have a consultation with a professional hair colourist and get all the information about this. They can do a proper analysis of your hair to see if it is possible to get as light as you want. They will explain how it is done, and what you need to do to look after it. If cost is a factor, then go to a school. (if you can't afford it, don't get it done) You will need to do this in two steps for the best results. Don't attempt it yourself. You have been warned.
Yes u definetly have to bleach it first,how do i know this because ive jsut done it myself,its easy just use loads of conditioner or it will dry out,dont worry if it turns a nast coulur coz it will lol just put a nice brown over it and then u can always gradually go lighter!hope this helps
no, just dye it, because your hair is black, when you dye it blonde its going to get an orangish tint anyways, just dye it the color you want.
I think you have to bleach it if your going orange-blondish.
