What type of color to use on black hair with red highlights?

I have black hair and go red highlights done.


I have noticed the red started fading away.





So what type of color can I use to freshen up the red again. I don't want to change the colour of the black hair.





Do I have to look for semi permanent hair colour???Toner???

First off, it depends on the level or brightness of red. If its a bright red, your best bet is to get it redone at a salon because ANY type of red hair coloring fades fairly quickly (in comparison to other more ';natural'; colors) and they tend to have better quality color that will stay longer than anything you can get and do yourself.





if you are bent on doing it yourself, it will have to be a temporary or semi-permanent color and probably should be something that you can mix a bit at a time so there's plenty left for future touch-ups. Toner wouldn't help you here.
Try koolaid!! get the brightest red koolaid you can find, put it in a bowl, add a tiny bit of water, the consistency should be thick, but not too thick! and then seperate the peices of hair you want to brighten and slop it on make sure you cover every part of your hair! leave it on for 30 minutes, rince until water runs clear! koolaid is awesome because it works really well!!!(experience) it doesnt wash out!!!! its super cheap!!! doesnt damage your hair at all! and in your case, it wont affect the black!
