I have natural dark black hair and I want to dye it blond. What hair dye would work the best or what could I do to get it light?What is the most effective way to dye black hair blond?
I went through the same situation last May, and I can tell you to do in parts. As in, first get highlighs, making sure that you get the perfect color for your skintone, and then go in again probably in two weeks , and so on until you have a head full of blond. Changing your hair color from an aftificial black is very difficult so you shouldn't do it all at the same time, because even if you do succed it may still not look good because it will look too one dimentional and artificial. When bleaching your hair and going blonde it would be wise to go to a professional because they are trained to find the perfect color for you and technique... First off, you definitely go to the salon for this. I have a friend who has natural black hair and actually sucessfully dyed her hair blond at home but it was very blotchy, for lack of, and did not come out nice. Her color faded soon afterwards.





I suggest you get your hair bleached, which is very damaging, but with proper treatment, your hair will be fine, and this comes from first-hand experience.

Black hair is obviously really dark and dying it is and extreme change so your hair just gets died an inbetween color (which is apparently purple)

Definitely need to bleach your hair. No other way to do it as you need to strip the black out. If you are inexperienced I suggest you go to a salon. Keep in mind that going from black to blonde in one day will probably fry your hair. It usually takes a few attempts, that way you give your hair time to recover and you can use a developer that is not as strong like 20% = less damage.

You're best bet is to let a professional do it. But you can buy hair bleach and do it yourself. Just follow the directions on the box.
