What color highlights are good for dark brown to black hair?

ok so i have really dark brown to black hair and i have never died my hair before but i want highlights and i have an appointment tomorrow and i need help. i want like red but not bright red and blond. i dont really want my hair filled with highlights just a little bit. can anybody find a pic to help me.What color highlights are good for dark brown to black hair?
I have extremly dark hair as well. Almost black...actually some say black lol. I would definatly go with a red and blonde. Thats what I wanted last time I went and I ended up with caramel highlights, which were ok, just not what I really wanted. Most of the time, they will have little pieces of hair...or fake hair I'm not sure lol, to show you the color it will turn out like. I wouldn't do Blonde at all if you do red. It wouldn't match right. Here is a pic of Pete Wentz with red in his hair. I don't know if this is to dark or bright but it is cool.

if you have brown hair kinda black that try blonde highlights but if its black try an orange-red. :) i have brown hair and used a blonde highlighter and my mom has black hair and she did the orange-red highlights. :) it looks good 2 me :)
Don't do too many blonde highlights it starts to turn orange. I have the same color hair and reds are way better. Almost like auburn or a medium to light brown hair with auburn red highlights. Good Luck :)
