What brand is best to bleach out black hair dye?

I have dyed my hair black multiple times. I really want to just finally get rid of the black so I can dye it either reddish or my natural brown. I tried an Herbal Essences ';bleach blonde'; package the other day on a test bit of hair, and it did nothing. I am afraid of using real bleach, and I cannot afford any more expensive than a box of hair dye from the store. So no salon. Any tips would be lovely, including those that will prevent my hair from thinning too much or getting nasty after I bleach it.What brand is best to bleach out black hair dye?
I dyed my hair jet black for two or three years straight..

I wanted to go back to my natural blonde so I went to a salon and spent $120 on bleaching and stripping jobs. Afterwards; my hair was perfectly fine and healthy and, even though she couldn't take it blonde again, it was a light brown shade.

I went back to dying it black again and wanted to bleach it out.. AGAIN and tried it at home, one process took my hair up just a couple of shades to a dark brown that still looked black. The bleach job was splotchy and it fried and broke my hair.

The expense is worth it. Go to a salon. What brand is best to bleach out black hair dye?
I know you said you don't want to go to a salon because of the price. The unfortunate part of this is if you attempt to do a double ( if not triple ) process at home you are going to destroy your hair and will have to go to the salon to have them fix it anyway.

You can go to the salon and get a consultation. Have them price it for you so you know what you are dealing with. BUT you are under no obligation to stay and have it done.
