How to get black hair to medium brown?

I dyed my hair black about 3 months ago. It's still really dark, but in the sun theres some brownish red tones. I want to get my hair medium brown, can i do this without bleach? My hair is sort of already damaged and bleach would be it feel like straw.How to get black hair to medium brown?

No you can't do nothing about that unforuntatly. I was the same way. I dyed my hair a dark red brown and then I wanted it to go a medium..more towards a lighter brown. I ended up going to the salon and had to strip my hair colour out. Can't go lighter unless you strip the colours. And blacks the hardest colour to strip out too because apparently it's really harsh compared to the other colours. So goodluck! But I think you're stuck stripping the black colour out to get it a medium brown.
well lol my natural hair color was black...but then i started straightening my hair and it became dark brown i straightened it almost everyday...and it depends what kind of shampoo you use i used different ones and my hair started turning dark brown..but i don't think its the same when u dye it...black..
