How do I dye my black hair light brown?

I dyed my brown hair black and now want to dye it back to a brown. I have tried to dye it and wont take. Getting worried. How do I dye my black hair light brown?
Professional opinion~ Well- this is a sure fire way to damage your hair and to mess it up majorly. This type of process is not a safe at home treatment. Removing hair color from the hair has to be done by a professional. You need to be able to control the product and keep it off the roots and while some areas may come up faster than others. Color will not remove color. Meaning~ you can not go lighter with color...only the same level or darker. A lightening process is the only way to go levels lighter.

Please go to a salon and have them use a safe conditioning color remover. NOT Bleach which will blow up the cuticle of your hair and fry it- making it dull and frizzy and possible cotton like if you are not careful. A trained stylist will remove the color and do a reconditioning treatment befor re-appllying the new desired color. Salon colors are highly conditioning compared to in store box colors which are made from metallic salts and dyes which coat the hair like wax and are much more damaging. If you attempt to do this at home you are likely to get an uneven tone from the color remover. Depending how ';light'; you go with the color remover you may need to ';fill'; the hair before the coloring process. Only a highly trained color professional knows how to properly do this. There is a product called oops that is availabel in stores but I have never used this myself and you really need to have someone help you apply it~ keep it off the roots or if you recolor you will be tiger striped and multicolored becaue lightenen hair soaks up color faster~ way Faster than non lightened hair. Save yourself the money of having to pay tons of $$$ for corrective color and go to a well known salon to begin with. The process should be less than $100.00 for removal and single process color- not including cut.

Good Luck-How do I dye my black hair light brown?
i would go to a hairdressers and get it stripped it costs quite a bit but will take it back to natural color

also if you don't care bout damaging it just bleach it then die it again
Try stripping it out, using bleach. Its pretty expensive to go to the salon for it, although doing it yourself you could risk frying your hair. Then just dye it back to the natural colour if it goes too light.
You'll have to bleach it if you want brown again you can't dye on top of black.

I'd go to a salon and have it done so you don't kill your hair.
use a dye remover from the store and only leave it in for a little while. It should lighten your hair up.
Go To The Hairdressers.
salon.
try a good salon. jc penny has one
