I do water changes every two weeks, water quality seems to be good. Fish are fine. Lights stay on for 8 hours. I've removed everything before and scrubbed all contents. Scrubbing only removes some of the stuff, then it returns in full force Thanks in advance for your response.I have grayish-black hair-like algea or fugus in my aquarium. What is it and how can I get rid of it?
I can't figure out the exact type of algae you may have. The algae that is black is not exactly hair like, it is shorter, and the hair like algae is usually green. I will post a couple links for you at the bottom, they will either have pictures, or good descriptions of the different algaes that effect aquariums, they will also have the methods of getting rid of these algaes. I hope this helps some, if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

This once happened to me.
You can buy algea removing tablets, these work very well.
try this...
buy algea removing tablets and drop them in your tank
the next day scrub off any remaining algea you spot and siphon - clean your tank
on both days keep your fish tank light off then turn the light back on when you regularly would on the 3rd day.
This should work well.
The more light the more algea.
Good Luck!
heyy u use algae removing tablets and keep da cleaning regular....
